Nigeria at 1.0 Trillion GDP
« on: November 25, 2020, 03:27:03 AM »
When will this happen and how? I think Nigeria has been investing a lot in Agriculture and agribusiness. It is still poor due to the high population but I think Nigeria is taking off. It will be a matter of time before it clocks a Trillion dollars in GDP. They just need to aggressively control population. I think for big business in East Africa they should move to Nigeria the market there is big

Another DRC. Huge potential. Useless country. They have Oil and gas. Nothing. Most of the country is Arable. Nothing. They have 200m people. Nothing. In Africa after DRC with 24 trillion dollars of minerals - is Nigeria with maybe 20 trillion dollars worth of minerals.

But again nothing. Only South Africa - which was precious metals Saudi Arabia - made that pay for it.

Nigeria, DRC, Ethiopia and Tanzania need either serious devolution or they be split. Too big to manage. Kenya has semi arid 2/3 and yet still a big country - now imagine Nigeria that is arable - and is twice as big as kenya - which is 2/3 a desert. That is HUGE.

Sudan, Ethiopia (shed of Eritrea) - they are getting there - next Nigeria, Congo and Tanzania need to split up or build capacity.

Nigeria has serious devolution and a presidential rotation arragement

Atiku may take it next time

DRC is going to get there. I think they can get there in another 20 years

Ethiopia has devolution but Central govt is trying to dictate what happens at the state level. Abiy needs his balls squeezed

Atiku is a northerner. It suppose to rotate but Northerners don't respect it, have imposed sharia law in their states, and routinely kill southerners.

not really

last president was Southerner.

Buhari has conceded that Nigeria needs to go to youthful leadership

yes ATIKU is a Northerner. He is the Raila of Nigeria always chasing the big seat but never successful. Obasanjo had him backlisted due to his corruption.

Murtala Mohammed - was the guy was going to fix Nigeria. however being a Muslim he took the idea of being servant leader too far and drover around without enough security. His enemies assassinated him but were there was a counter coup by the army and Obasanjo took over only to hand over to civilian then he took again

At least DRC trace it's troubles to cold war and western vultures looting raw materials. Lumumbas would have taken them far. Nigeria has the ingredients but it obviously hard to get the tiny middle class to drag along the poor, semi- literate bulk of freeloaders. That why I endorse China- model benevolent dictatorship: Mwafrika needs tough love of strict rules such as one-child policy. It well known China would not make it without population control, eminent domain, etc stateconomics. Universal suffrage with unevolved lot is waste of time.

India is another excellent example of a toothless bulldog punching way below her weight. I believe the boers aided SA quite abit.

@bitmask shove your sneers you-know-where
