Lol, Termi, I've always wondered: What happens with uchawi when it reaches the city? It seems the cure for nightrunning is a mixed neighbourhood, street lights, thugs and watchmen?  :D To this day, I have never met a witness of actual uchawi. Just lots of people who know lots of people who absolutely have. I am a believer in immaterial reality and even I have a very hard time with these stories. My grandpa lived to a ripe old age and dismissed them for the same reason despite his lack of education. Used to say, "All my life I have been afraid of witches. But where are they? I have never met them." Simple enough. Lol.

They run into challenges in the city.  I have noticed in Kenya, the westerners(the kavirondo crew) and coastals are really sold onto it.  Interestingly it seems to defy education levels and even social class.  I know people(you would never expect) who have sought the services of witches.  Among Naija, I have noticed the Igbo to be particularly prone.

Termi, sought the services of a witch or mganga? We have mgangas in plenty but they are just your less sleek "panda-mbegu" conmen IMO. The evil variety...the mchawi...that one seems to coincide with parties to local feuds: so much that I think its just a nice little weapon to fire whenever is convenient. Everyone goes to mganga but only your enemies consult actual witchcraft, lol.

A witch.  A guy who shakes bones and casts spells.

Okoyu man send armed AP after his nephew who was chewing his wife

But the nephew has denied it.
He is not about to but everything points to that from the locale to timing
