Easy to criticize...but what are Luhya options in Nairobi or elswhere. In Nairobi & nationally -with CORD- it seem like they have to accept a Luo-Kamba alliance - with them as the third leg. This is Wamalwa and Luhyas best foot forward. They either take it or dither - and someone else will.

A Luo- Kamba ticket ain't so bad, is it? The Kalenjin have to play second fiddle to Kikuyus for 10 years with every likelihood of being shafted. If we have Luo-Kamba from 2017 both candidates would be aged and willing to let a Luhya give it a try.

Who knows, Kikuyus could find it more opportune to support a Luhya in 2022 than Ruto.

One bird at hand is better than two in the bush. Ruto has good thing going on - Kalenjin are not complaining. Wamalwa and Luhyas have a solid offer from GEMA in Nairobi. They need to take it.

Let me put it this way:

The Luhya, like the Luo, don't want to see the continuation of the Kikuyu Kleptocracy. Fielding a candidate for "Nationalist" intentions will again leave the Luhya embarrassed and left with a paid Ma DvD as it happened in 2013.

You can see all the attempts being made by GEMA to get the Luhya vote. Now getting Namwamba to do the MaDvD (2013) thing will probably achieve the same result. Dangling Eugene Wamalwa (even if it is a personal payoff for Mahalang'ang'a from Uhuru) in Nairobi is part of the same package. Your Kikuyu comrades are desperate to break CORD and they think they can do that by heaving off the Luhya.

Many Luhya felt like Brits after Brexit. They didn't think voting for MaDvD would bring in Uhuru. They are determined to correct that mistake.

Now I have not heard much of the MPs you said had defected to Jubilee. When are they holding the first Jubilee Rally in Western? Perhaps Washiali will convene one at Bukhungu Stadium? Actually, if Ruto has to continue giving them money he should demand they hold major rallies in major towns. Instead, I see Ababu staging "rallies" for video crews which Citizen and KBC grab like a thirsty man grabs a calabash of water in the desert.

Wamalwa can take his offer from GEMA day he wants. But just don't imagine he is representing Luhyas. He has never really been a Luhya politician. His claim to fame is the fact that Michael Kijana was once his brother or  father? Who knows.

Ruto must have put you in real money to the extent of blinding you. You have lost your grassroots barometer Omera.

You don't understand politics. It all about choices. It not that Kalenjin are "lovers" with Gema - heck the PEV of 2008 says otherwises. It about what options you've got there. You either go to Raila (whom we complaned about daily -so I know when Kalenjin are not happy) or Uhuru. There is no mursik on the table - it was either taking fish or githeri. Kalenjin nation are doing great with Uhuru. If there is anybody complaining - then it a whimper from fools who though ICC would open the door for their ambitions -Giddy & Isaac- otherwise folks are looking forward to President Ruto in 2022 after Uhuru more than obvious 5yrs.

When it come to Luhya nation. They first have to come together. Right now we know Bukusu, Maragoli and others are divided.  What we also know is that Jubilee has made headways in Bukusu and other subtribes like the Wanga are in Jubilee. Jubilee will struggle with Maragoli (not yet over with Mudamba son) and Busia (luo-luhyas) but I am seeing Jubilee doing way better than 5% they got in 2013.

And yet Jubilee doesn't need Luhya votes...Raila need them all. Jubilee job is to deny Raila all. Have MaDVD, Wetangula, Ababu, Jirongo and whoever else chipping votes away from CORD.

As for Nairobi - Sonko won by large margin that Kidero - and if Jubilee was just interested in governorship - they'd put in Sonko - but Sonko is just an idiot. Wamalwa has 3 things going for him. He knows his places in Jubilee hierchary, he is educated fellow and he is a luhya - and he get along with both UhuRuto. The guy is off to brilliant start in Nairobi. If Wanjiru can be convinced to be his running mate - then he is going to win Jubilee nomination - and we will see 3-4 horse race btw Sonko, Kidero and Wamalwa.

I am certainly going to vote for Wamalwa.

Let me put it this way:

I get the feeling you would be very happy to see a Luhya Presidential candidate like MaDvD carrying 90% of the Luhya vote. Boy wont that hand Uhuru and Ruto another 5 years on a Golden Platter.

Kalenjin did not go to Uhuru. Ruto took them out of revenge against Raila for firing him and snubbing him for the DPM post. I was as hurt by Sagana and the appointment of Madvd like Ruto You read what I wrote and I predicted that it was a mistake that will return to haunt Raila. In politics votes are rewarded and Raila did not reward Ruto.

That said, Ruto had overwhelming interests to stick with Uhuru. That is the ICC. Only his enemies could free him and that we can understand.

But the overall long-term Kale interests are not in an alliance with Kikuyus. Ruto has got what little he could get from them and realpolitik requires that he now shift gears or drown.

Luhya's need to come together and support Raila not facilitate a Jubilee regime. Tell me one benefit that will accrue to the Luhya with a Jubilee regime? What is it that Luhyas will get in Nairobi with Eunice that they aren't getting under Kidero? May be Uhuru should go for a dream team and deputize Raila  :D

There is a better option: Uhuru steps down and names Eunice the Jubilee candidate. Man, I would vote for Jubilee albeit with a tightly clamped nose.

Jubilee has no votes in Western. Being labeled a Jubilee man is a stigma not worth carrying. I believe you refer to Washiali in Mumias. Like I said let him call a single public rally to market Jubilee Dear Pundit. Then I would know you have votes.

Even Madvd has been throwing stones at Jubilee - even though no sane person believes him. He lost credibility when he took cash to spoil Raila's votes. It was no coincidence that Raila chose Vihiga to start his tour of Western. FYI Raila's wife is an ethnic Maragoli speaking girl. Raila only deployed her once at the funeral of Aladwa's father and he nearly wiped Mudavadi out in 2013. A mistake was made where she did not return to cover the other areas.

Sonko won with some Kikuyu votes but mostly with Kamba and youth votes. It was the same for the three - Sonko, Yule Malaya wa Kahara and Kidero. Sonko owns the youth vote. Divide it and you have both the GEMA candidate and Sonko going home (as they will).

CORD will increase its share of MPs in Nairobi, keep the governorship and add Women's rep and Senator.

As has been mentioned here and elsewhere ad infinitum.  In 2017, the Luhya should be considered a Raila voting block.  The rest are distractions.

There is so much bravado from Jubilee. The media urges them on.

Take a look at Malindi. If the elections were based on the media, Kiboro had already handed it to Jubilee and Gideon Mung'aro was no longer a hotel living paedophilic pimp but a respectable fearsome political operative.

The problem is that none of the Jubilee operatives deliver? Did they deliver Kajiado? No

Did they deliver Malindi? No

Did they deliver Kericho? By rigging out KANU.

They claim to have votes and bribe the Tumbocrats blind. They then start counting votes. Well, we figured out the Jubilee antidote and we don't use it sparingly. After the loss in Kisii where CORD fought against itself, we decided never again.

Remember the hype about Musikari Kombo beating Wetangula?

Jubilee has yet to win a seat outside its own safe zones.

There is a bit of a delusional mindset among the jubilant.  The fronting of Eugene Wamalwa confirmed that delusion.  The sheer cluelessness.  Wamalwa would probably have serious problems running for MP in Trans Nzoia, let alone Nairobi governor.

When the rubber hits the road.  When all the noises have settled down.  It's not a mystery how the Luhya will vote in 2017.

Eunice has stepped on rule number 6 of politics: Never give in to a competitor's trickery, whims or threats.

Noah Wekesa wants to "retire" being governor of Trans Nzoia. Like has has not stolen enough land over there, he wants more. His challenge is Eugene. So as he is putting the party together - remember he was picked for the role because he is a Luhya so that Jubilee is seen as a Luhya party - he gets the idea that he could actually jettison Eunice out of Trans Nzoia. He manages to get Uhuru's ear.

But like Kabatesi says, he will be disowned and dumped with the flimsiest of excuses. I suspect something like: The people rejected u and he will be promised another ministry of politicking.

Look at his political history:

2003 - He loses NARC primaries to Nakitare
2007 - He's among the MPs rigged in to justify stolen votes in Western and RV
2013 - He sees the writing on the wall and stays out of the elections. The coward refuses to take on Uhuru even if to make a name for himself
2017 - He plans to back Uhuru in the belief he would be supported for 2022.

Now do you see where I am coming from? His so called influence in Luhyaland is as thin as it can get. He is a One-Term MP whose election then was questionable. Apart from self adulation and promotion he is a non entity which locals often wonder when they see alll the attention he gets.

A challenge for him to get support remains: He should be given a girl of his own choosing. The girl should come back and testify that he did a good job. Then Bukusu's will support him. Three times he has either failed or declined.

One gets the impression listening to the typical jubilant that they have solved their community's problems and are now busy suggesting the same kool-aid for other communities.  It happens when you start to believe your own propaganda.

Of the CORD communities, I believe the Kamba are actually easier and more likely to peel off than the Luhya.

May be. I could not believe that Ngilu would go back there to listen to crap after she was used and dumped.

There is no telling what happens with politicians. The Kisii lot has been bought and have opted for collective political suicide led by Charles Nyachae.

That said, there is no place in Kenya where the elite abuse, misuse, exploit, mistreat, damn and generally dehumanize the ordinary person like in Central. The worst of this takes place in this order (with the first being the worst):
1. Kiambu
2. Nyeri
3. Murang'a
4. Kirinyaga
5. Nyandarua
6.Emigre Populations in RV

These people are brought up on a diet of hate against Luos with Raila actually delivered in mother's milk. It is not strange to hear such things like "Raila is a demon" etc.
