Different styles. Ruto is PORK after having being DPORK for 10yrs and Minister for another 10yrs. So relax.
There are two types of promises.
Big promises that are in manifesto - those will be audited in 2027 - and Ruto will defend his tenure.
There are small promises on the course of leadership - like gov will leave no stone unturned in shakaola - those will be forgotten by next year. Ruto main job in times of turbulence like this is to inspire confidence and comfort the folks that things will be okay.
Ruto problem is he is overly ambitious - and want to get stuff done - asap - but it appears he lacks the people with similar urgency.
He need to fire lot of lazy people who are not making his promises come true - and embarrassing him.
Kibaki is NOT leadership. That is absence of leadership.
I rather Ruto aim for the sun and reach the moon - that promise nothing - do nothing type of Kibaki. Ruto should not be afraid to promise things to be done in 3 or six months - if it doesnt happen - fire someone. That is how inefficient gov will start functioning.
Otherwise if Ruto promises nothing because he is afraid to fail - he will be EPIC failure in 2027.
These tu small promises nobody will remember soon.
I have watched Ruto address the media on taxation, cost of living, wage bill, ethnic balancing in public appointments etc with a lot of sympathy. Why the rush to ventilate on issues you have very little data on or zero understanding on? Why pay advisors who give you half-baked solutions/answers to real problems especially now when majority of Kenyans are angry with GoK due to the high cost of living and also hungry literally?
Can't he get Hussein Mohammed to spew garbage, let the public react on Hussein's garbage, sieve through the public response and collect intel. Thereafter give an official government position. Hussein Mohamed should be schooled by Dr. Mutua Alfred. Mutua did a good job for the Kibaki Government.
Of late Dr. Ruto has been hanged-out to dry. He's been giving contradicting, shallow, unrehearsed responses to vital issues of public interest. How about just keeping mum like Kibaki did while being tough on the cabinet to deliver on UDA promises?
