Have always wondered what happened there. To the likes of TRV Dr. Masinde, it was a very vibrant place. But from my observations ODM supporters killed the place as they will kill this too, reason, Odomos don't know to separate their emotions and blogging online, they take it personal when things are not going there way they desist from posting and arguments die a natural death as Jubilee support cant debate on their own.

We are still here, just got tired of the unending obsession with Ruto, Raila, Uhuru big personality bullshit. I now study the Kenyan obsession with these type of politics like an experiment, is there some deficiency in the way Kenyans think. It’s mind boggling, you interact with the rest of the world, Nigerians, Ethiopians etc it’s night and day. Our politics have done a lot of damage that will take years to reverse, I hope future generations will have a different mindset. These days if I go into a gathering of Kenyans and they start with this nonsense, my time there becomes very limited. Before COVID-19, I went to one of these Kenyan things, I thought there was going to erupt a mini PEV because of idiots arguing about Ruto, Raila and Uhuru, I quickly made exit. How much time do Kenyans actually spend stuck on politics as opposed to other things in life. I find it unfunny and sad. There is corruption and theft everywhere, deaths from disease, sewage and garbage everywhere, teen pregnancies, poor roads, horrid death mill hospitals and Kenyans still obsessed with baba na mama big man politics. This does not mean that I do not care who leads Kenya next, it’s the reality of the world I find myself and also there is always that glimmer of hope that the next president can do better. Kibaki did his best after Moi.

You open a Kenyan newspaper, what’s the headline, Ruto strategy, Raila this or that, go to Kenyan bars, same conversation, online blogs, parties etc I used to be like this, God knows I have entertained a few parties with my supposedly knowledgeable commentary on all things Kenyan. I would rather jump out of the window than sit and listen to myself 5yrs ago. When I call people in Kenya and they start this, it’s time for the battery of my phone to die and I hung up.

We knew it was going to die..the same crew who killed RCB went ahead to kill Nipate.com...and hopefully they don't kill this.

Ultimately it's about mwafrika not being able to handle freedom of thought and expression. You see people engage in a lot of negative energy - trying to control what others will say or think - an impossibility.

People need to learn to live and let live. Make your points and go home. Respect each other opinion. Disagree if you wish and go home.

We've got veritas to thank.  And a slower more deliberative pace that respects differences, for the most part.

As for the politics that FB talks about, you cannot avoid politics, unless you take off into the woods and become a hermit.

Looking at Kenyan media (and sometimes even a place like this one), one would think that the next general elections will be held in a few months ...

To be fair, the focus shifted to 2022 as soon as handshake was done.  It could be argued that the handshake was the opening shot for 2022.

It is sad because we need more sites not few. With the so called social media taking all attention and all forcing American issues on us tupende tusipende these sites are important.

Sadly unless one write banter and triteness be sure there will be no traction.

The media in Kenya:

Print Media obsessed with elections and politics
TV: A bit of that, soap operas and so called anchors lack of a dress code
Radio: Sex, Sex and more sex.

Twitter and facebook are quite robust, though great fodder for Cambridge Analyticas and despots
