Kenya is a difficult place. Now the sentence is 12 years in jail or pay 53 million. He must have coughed up around 60 million, where the judge would take 5 million and the rest would go to fines. After stealing 588 million, that is a net 500m+. So anyone can steal 1 billion and just save around 100M for pribing courts! In proper court, he should have been handed 90 years and made to pay the full amount! Now those Gen Zs who were protesting finance bill should be in the streets, bringing the country to its knees because that is a very legitimate issue to protest about, not protesting a President doing everything right!

As long as Ruto, Sakaja and all those north eastern governors are not in jail, everything else is theatre. Waititu has been a target for a while, maybe he doesn’t share his loot, I saw the Kiambu governor being paraded too, these are man who were rich even before they ventured in politics. I know Kiambu GDP is close to some countries in Africa and there is someone who wants a piece of it. The Kiambu governor has at least some development record, the north eastern guys develop Nairobi and Dubai while their people starve to death. Sakaja has Nairobi drowning in sewage, dysfunction and murder, probably the worst governor in Kenya. The guy is so low IQ to lead a city like Nairobi but all these idiots will be swept away in a mass wave in 2027 and thrown to jail immediately after the elections.
