Maraga is Jubilee's worst nightmare. He has unquestionable integrity and he is ready to fight back. Jubilee used to intimidating, killing and bribing people into submission or using propaganda to take away ones integrity. They have tried that with Maraga and failed and now Maraga is saying that he is not afraid of death.

Yeap - my suspicion is they will try to protect their own - parliament and treasury need to respond by blocking allocation to treasury - withdraw priveleges like security guards and name it - they need to play fair - order investigation to those allegations - and if there is some prima facia evidence - go for tribunal - if not - Uhuru should call for referendum on the judiciary and we remove the security of tenure.

(1) There is established the Judicial Service Commission.
(2) The Commission shall consist of -
(a) the Chief Justice, who shall be the chairperson of the Commission;
(b) one Supreme Court judge elected by the judges of the Supreme Court;
(c) one Court of Appeal judge elected by the judges of the Court of Appeal;
(d) one High Court judge and one magistrate, one a woman and one a man, elected by the members of the association of judges and magistrates;
(e) the Attorney-General;
(f) two advocates, one a woman and one a man, each of whom has at least fifteen years’ experience, elected by the members of the statutory body responsible for the professional regulation of advocates;
(g) one person nominated by the Public Service Commission; and
(h) one woman and one man to represent the public, not being lawyers, appointed by the President with the approval of the National Assembly.
(3) The Chief Registrar of the Judiciary shall be the Secretary to the Commission.

Are you going to direct the JSC how to conduct its business? BTW it is not Maraga to "order" investigations. It is upto the JSC. It is not bound to respond to all the petitions and the secretary can throw out frivolous petitions.

That is why I rarely merge. But I thought this was a good candidate for a merge. The forum may not be that busy to you, but I, and maybe others, are actually used to a slower pace - having to jump from one thread to another discussing essentially the same thing can be quite tasking. Still in retrospect should have asked first.

That is why I rarely merge. But I thought this was a good candidate for a merge. The forum may not be that busy to you, but I, and maybe others, are actually used to a slower pace - having to jump from one thread to another discussing essentially the same thing can be quite tasking. Still in retrospect should have asked first.

Maraga clearly acknowledges the right to picket but complains of those that are aggressive/violent and the threats to judges/their families including lack of adequate security provisions. Who did Kisii demonstrators get aggressive towards? The cameras? Lol. To jubilants threatening to withdraw votes from uhuru=violence to them, lol! But keep going. You are the ones that were here cheering the murder of demonstrators in Kibra, Mathare and Kisumu, no? It's nice to see a change of heart re the basic political freedoms. I'm glad you acknowledge them now.

The moment it become violent - like those kibera or kisumu goons throwing stones - then police have to meet them with equal force.
