Look like a serious dog-beating - 65 vs 35%. Lungu fool needs to concede. He can join Goodluck Jonathan as incumbents who peacefully conceded defeat.

Zambia has history of that. I think he should just bow out. Economy is in such chaos - it was gonna happen.
Holding election under covid is very dangerous for incumbent.
Even Museveni had to rig massively.

There is need for a reliable platform dedicated to tallying votes across Africa which can be deployed across the countries.

Useless AU is beaten by Chirchir to such.

Relying on compromised and vested interests of the foreign media which could not even do it for the home of democracy is absurd. From Thursday - day 3 and all we are hearing is 'early' lead🤷???🤷???

I have no idea what are the dynamics of Zambian politics are.  In Kenya(tribe), TZ(CCM dominance), UG, Rwanda(authoritarians).  I wonder what really animates them when they get in the voting booth.

It appears as tribal as any african country. There seem to be Northern and Southern Divide - with East and West - providing the swing. The guy who won is from Southern Zambia tribe of Tonga - and party is strong there.

It peaceful country coz it entirely Bantus.

Yes, they are literally all Bantus, and very closely related Bantus to boot.  But given how Somalia works, it might still be a big deal.

Yes Malawi/Zambia/Zimbabwe are very similar bantus - the pure bantus - no so much Khoisan influence - no nilotic or cushitic influence like East Africa Bantus. I think Bantus generally peaceful people. Apart from the Zulus down in South Africa - who go into cattle culture. Generally tribes dealing with cattle or living in deserts; tend to be warlike; there is always the fight for pasture or water points in dry plains; and there is always that laziness that come with cattle keeping; so much energy idling eventually lead to useless fights; In fact to stop cattle rustling in Kalenjin; Mzungu started sport activities; because men would either be practising for war or just going to cattle rustling; for nothing but idleness; That disdain for menial labour is very common in cattle keeping societies of north africa and middle east'; the extra energy is then reserved to starting wars.
Bantus as farmers living in good rainfall areas do not need to fight; over anything; they are very busy tilling their land.
