He been ailing for a while. I was told by a Tanzanian 2 years ago that his doctors had urged him to get specialised care for heart condition but he turned it down. Preferring to continue treatment in TZ. Covid just finished him off. So sad that he didnt listen to anyone. He is a Michuki or Matiangi type. Good administrators but cannot lead well

RIP and prayers to his family and friends but ignoring Covid and leading Tanzania in that direction was very dangerous especially for a man of his age and heart issues. Our ex-president here was extremely lucky to have the best care in the world, some healthcare professionals are actually shocked that he made it throug. I am now trying to convince a lot of Kenyans, some my relatives to take the vaccine if offered. There are lots of skeptical people out there because of some bullshit they heard from Church or some other source. I have seen Covid decimate people, it's no joke. I have two people I know very well, in their 40s, one is using a walker while the other one can hardly get out of bed because of chronic and devastating fatigue.

Kibaki was extremely lucky he got good treatment after the accident. However, the stroke damaged his memory so bad. I remember watching speak in DC around 2003 or so and his memory was far gone. He later improved with time but he has got good gene as he is still living even now. On covid as predicted this will slowly kill Africans in waves and by 2023 we will have a lot people dead. Right now anyone with a preexisting condition in ke is getting killed by covid. Just this week 3 in my area are dead. A buddy bro left a bill of over 5 million. Hopefully with less people takimg the vaccine in india ke can obtain some of the supply from there

I am afraid which has been my fear all along that COVID-19 is about to become an African disease decimating communities just like aids did. Covid-19 and poor healthcare systems is a bad combination, it also takes you very quickly and painfully. If you recover, the long term effects are not even completely known. The guy I know who now uses a walker is dealing with blood clots and is on blood thinners, he was completely healthy before COVID. There people dealing with heart and liver issues, falling teeth, pulmonary embolism etc I was looking at photos of COVID devastation and there was this one guy who was being shocked after his heart stopped, something about his situation sent chills down my spine, he looked around 40, in his boxers, not out of shape, tubes everywhere, from there on, for me there was no joking around. I am now fully vaccinated but still take all the necessary precautions.
