But how can he select  battles? I think he need to battle everywhere - on sea, land and air - even where he fails like Kibra - he would have won some support. What he needs is become more tactical like in Msawbweni - where ODM were trying to pull him to Joho level. So for Nairobi for example - he should avoid getting into tiff with Uhuru directly - and nationally - try to avoid going toe to toe with Uhuru - he is lameduck anyway.So for example - Wanjiru can be supported by Ruto crew - but Ruto can pretend to be 'disinterested' if Uhuru shows his hand.

That's where strategy comes into play, fighting every battle not only drains his resources but exposes him to kieleweke for analyzing. He need to pick the fights that he knows he can win big like ukambani and western, Nairobi he can layback but clandestinely orchestrate moves, Uhuru has no fighting spirit left once he got NMS he doesn't care about the outcome but this is a dick measuring contest for baba and kieleweke. Ruto MUST NOT back losers like wanjiru that would be a very destructive gamble, he MUST NOT associate with losers especially Kikuyus who want to reinvent themselves. Kikuyus are not like Luos who can be easily moved, swayed or coerced. Kikuyus are calculative thinkers Wanjiru and Waititu are in same league according to them, Thats why Ruto needs to let them fight this battle, apart from Luo votes Waweru wouldn't get any other but Kikuyus need a candidate who atleast not very tainted.
