Nairobi is a city - a dynamic city - Waweru is not known for anything except his state house connection in kibaki regime and being kamanda decoy in Nairobi.

Wiper vice-chairman Mutula Kilonzo Jnr said the party had not deliberated on the Nairobi race.

"We have not deliberated on it yet. However, it would be in our interest to focus on the Machakos senatorial seat and support a joint candidate in Nairobi," he said.

Amani National Congress deputy leader Ayub Savula said in the spirit of the Nasa Coalition, they were negotiating on whether to support a joint candidate in Nairobi.

"In the spirit of Nasa as a Coalition, ODM should not field a candidate in Matungu and Kabuchai and back ANC in Matungu and Ford Kenya in Kabuchai so that we reciprocate in Nairobi. For Machakos senatorial position, we will back Wiper candidate," Mr Savula said.

Mr Sonko garnered 138,185 votes to beat Mr Peter Kenneth (62,504 votes) and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru (7,654 votes).

How is Wanjiru a force? She barely moved the needle in 2017. It was dismal 3%. Waweru didn't run even primaries.

Anyway this come down to hustler vs handshake. The closest comparison is maybe Kibra. ODM has picked Kamba lady to try appease them. Wiper is not fielding. My bet is Sonko will be AWOL so it come down to Kalonzo vs Muthama-Kivutha. Ruto apparent "invasion" of Ukambani (Machaa) could  backfire. Like Joho in Diani. It noteworthy that Muthama is Wheelbarrow Party chairman.

Luhya- Ruto has no Mariga heartthrob to sell unlike Kibra. Will Khalwale and Owallo be enough? Once again he is the invader in western.

Best bet would be to throw weight clandestinely behind Miguna, most Nairobians except Ghetto will probably back him including Luos. Then sonko can get the slums out for him but still early days. But whats clear Waweru is a non starter.

Tell em FB. Nairobians long used to Majiwas, Wathikas kanjora fights at City Hall - then Kidero and Sonko nonsense - now find calm, disciplined, "boring" Badi a breath of fresh air. Bling bling, foul sheng and drama is a sour taste thanks to Sonko. Uhuru brought NMS and kicked out the overgrown chokora - it tough to question that wisdom.

Very correct...how do you get rid of sonko and bring in Wanjiru? For once we need to be serious when it comes to governing positions. Sonko was a joke, trying to run the city like second hand cloth market....what will Wanjiru do different? What  organization skills or policy making skills does she bring to the table?
