Most of who is who in Kenya is against this farce. This is a complete rip off to wananchi it has so many hurdles but let them force it, it will quickly lead us to the next step of sending baba to bondo permanently.

And for that matter , Orengo during the senate discussions on on county allocation bill was literally crying , how unlike Kibaki Uhuru keeps to himself in state house and Raila stopped taking advice from his close confidants every time telling them he has to consult Uhuru.

Njuri has a vwry valid point , aRadical Constituion changong in places like Kenya where there are different communial and religious interests is a recipe for chaos. We tried it in 2005 and the results was 2007 P.E.V.
This one too might lead us to the same path and as Njuri says people are already tired with Raila, he has been tormenting Kenyans for a very longtime especially right now with the challenges of Covid 19.

But seriously we need majimbo and federalism - 90% of issues we have can be dealt locally - people should be busy in their counties. In most countries - you can live your entire life in your locale...go to school, live and work there...federal gov should be DISTANT...where we send 2 politicians for a few federal issues.

Nairobi should be a shell - dealing with immigration, foreign affairs and defence.

Every kenyan should have two flags. His county. And Kenyan.

But try to unite 42 nations with different cultures - impossible.

Let each county become a federal unit. Do whatever you want. Nairobi should only come in for inter-county conflicts or when county misbehave - ethiopia style.

MoH is a cash cow for SH and its operatives. Good examples are the scandals involving MAfya House and Kemsa today.
There is no goodwill on the political side for devolution in Kenya.
BBI wants 35% of the coutry's budget to go to the counties, but fails to say which new responsibilities for the counties will go with this new higher budget. It does not make sense at all.

Precisely. If we focus on the functions - it would be easy to devolve money. Anyway judiciary is one to save devolution. Roads, Health and many functions that were devolved were quietly returned to national gov.

This is long fight - and eventually we will get there -

GEMA used and still is biggest impemdiment to full federalism - but now with Ruto or Raila set for PORK - they may listen.

But BBI is already wasted opportunity.
