Why?

If Uhuru goes, wow. That's going to be the beginning of what was always supposed to be. Washington kissed how many dictators prior to crackdown.

I fear for Uhuru.

CORD are right. Uhuru should define the agenda for the summons. If it his individual case..he need to go quietly.

The law does not demand that of him.

Okay but it would be an abuse of power if he is calling parliament to discuss his criminal case.
The law does not demand that of him.

Ouru wants to misuse the parliament for personal okuyu political reasons to snub his nose to the west even as he surrenders to their very whims.  It would have been better if he were to summon the parliament to  render his resignation, but he does not have the character to do the right thing.

Assuming he is arrested and thrown in korokoro, the VP takes over in acting capacity until it is determined that he no longer can carry out those duties. If both are unable, the the speaker of Bunge takes over and elections ensue in 2 months

it all depends on what will happen at Hague. If charges are dropped then uhuru get a new lease of life, becomes more emboldened and most likely will lead from the front. If the charges are not dropped, new conditions set and government is forced to co-operate with prosecution and provide details in a timely manner to allow speedy trial then uhuru becomes a lame duck president navigating through ICC manenos. On second scenario it will all fall on Karangi to lead the country, we may go Egypt way, remember karangi was decorated by US military couple months ago.

btwn after westgate attacks or other terrorist attack did uhuru ever call for parliament special sitting?

I think its good for CORD Mps to refuse to be part personal legal matter and any attempt to make personal legal issue national issues
CORD must make it clear that they stand with PEV victims.

Read the constitution again. There is nothing VP. DPORK takes over for remainder of the term. This will happen if Uhuru was to be jailed for more than six months for instance. This is farfetched. ICC are not going to jail Uhuru.

Suffice to say everytime Uhuru is out of the country for any reason...DPORK act as PORK as per constitution.

Assuming he is arrested and thrown in korokoro, the VP takes over in acting capacity until it is determined that he no longer can carry out those duties. If both are unable, the the speaker of Bunge takes over and elections ensue in 3 months

I see the second scenario...more conditions and strict deadline to give bensauda what she wants. I do not see any circumstance in our constitution that would allow Karangi to overthrow the constitution and led a military gov. He won't last long if he attempted to execute a military coup.

I even he is arrested on other charges such as obstruction, witness tampering etc.

VP usage is out of old habits. Whats in a label? He could still be called VP with the same functions.
