It always smelled like a dead rat. The appeals will end in 2022 so Sonko is done. NMS has 25B in new budget.

Yes, look like they have 3 months to regularize. They have swords of impeachment hanging over Sonko head. But as we go to 2022 - Sonko will go rogue - and kick the army men out - using Nairobi thugs.

Will never happen. Sonko's cases cann always be brought up anytime including his escaping from prison.
Of course Nairobi's takeover by Uhuru is illegal.

Judiciary is not under Uhuru control. Sonko will get a bail and will be back. When rubber meet the road; the army men will run to the barracks as Sonko thugs take over Nairobi. The chaos Uhuru will cause in mid 2021 will be huge if he doesn't start to wind down. He is on power accumulation spree instead of preparing for transition. That is going to cause chaos next year because he will be forced to be lameduck and his orders will be ignored. At that point even MCAS will not play ball.

You over estimate Sonko's control of city mobs. Those are mainly guns for hire and not many will be ready to die for Sonko. Infact he cannot even organise a demonstration for himself in the streets of Nairobi. Sonko knows his limits and since when was the judiciary independent? When you see the CJ complaining in public it shows you how frustrated he is by the executive.

There is no money to run NMS and City Hall unless the army starts collecting Kshs. 20 from hawkers and prostitutes. County Assembly has already sensed they are being run out of town together with Sonko. Jayd's battlefronts are piling up like toys.

Quote
Budget and Appropriations Committee Chairman Robert Mbatia said that the allocation to NMS by National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani has left the county assembly in total confusion, rendering its future bleak.

This comes after Mr Yattani last week allocated the entire Sh15.95 billion Nairobi County government equitable revenue share as well as Sh9.7 billion from the county’s own-source revenue to NMS for the 2020/2021 financial year.

Mr Mbatia questioned the move, saying that going by the Division of Revenue Act, national government transfers to Nairobi County should be done through the County Revenue Fund (CRF), where own-source revenue is also deposited, meaning that all the Sh26.4 billion allocated to NMS should be done by the county assembly.

BLEAK FUTURE

“The future looks bleak because the county’s own source revenue will hardly hit Sh8.5 billion. If NMS is to get Sh9.7 billion from the own-source revenue and all the equitable revenue share, then even funding the remaining functions and the county assembly’s Sh2.2 billion will be very difficult,” said the Kariobangi South MCA.

Total confusion. But I hope NMS if anything continues to footpaths and walkways. Nairobi needs that. It good treasury is allocating Nairobi beyond the share. Nairobi is our grade cow and we need to take care of her.

By mid next year the chaos in Kenya will be historic.
