The problem is rural kenya - people in shags are militantly opposed to people from Nairobi. I cannot dare go to Kericho. The villagers will attack you  :(  and bundle you to quarantine.

So Wanjohi will probably remove night curfew and keep city curfew.

In my village they arrested an old woman after she came from Britain and put her in Quarantine. it is really dicey. I was slated to visit my parents next month but I cannot dare.

21 more days of curfew and closures in Kenya. I feel pity for Kenyans. I am getting very desperate pleas from guys. It seems people are having a very hard time feeding their families. I really think Wanjohi should reopen the fucking economy and let those that will die to die. There is no need to subject these poor to more suffering. When a mother is desperate for food to be able to feed her children then it upon use with much to help and advocate for her. I just got such a plea from a widow who husband committed suicide 10 years ago. It is heart wrenching. The husband was my high school friend. I never met the wife. You can imagine a total stranger just reaching out because you are the last hope.

Economically, its getting tougher and tougher. People are now fed-up. They no longer believe loads of Kagwe/Mwangangi daily count. At the same time Wanjohi is playing politics!

This will be a tough year- and Uhuru not helping to demolish people houses and to play politics.

How long will economy survive - before the gov is unable to pay salaries?

Gov needs roughly 150B every month to run - about 35-40B to repay debt. About the same 50B to pay salaries. About 30B to remit to counties. About 15B to pay pensions. Lot more for recurrent expenditure.

Wanjohi if this goes on - will not be able to pay salaries soon.

And Ruto should be very happy - not to be part of Jubilee - it's going to be very nasty.

Look likely there won't be any school this term - and pretty much going by countries that have opened up and shut down immediately - it very long struggle.

Wanjohi is really enjoying the show not cognizant of unintended consequences of stopping hand to mouth livelihood activities.

People are bribing to get out of the metropolitan to urban centres away from Nairobi to put up with their relatives. From here you can easily transition to the villages.

They are already struggling. Governors got March salaries on Friday. The governors indicating they were processing payments for salaries. Treasury and COG are playing cat and mouse games to buy time.

With likes of EABL issuing profit warnings, KRA and NIS will understand the billions they are getting for funny contact tracing do not grow on trees.

I think many still think COVID-19 is some joke - some flu - that will go away. Nobody really has a solution apart from social distancing - which is not working. As for Wanjohi  - this worst time to open war front with Jubilee party leadership and plank. When he will be unable to pay salaries - nobody will listen to his excuses - and when his gov collapses - he will be so unpopular.

Until we get a vaccine - this year is lost.

Yes, I wouldn't want to the Treasury Minister now. or CBK governor. Soon they will have to print money....to pay salaries and domestic debt...and then the economy will go into serious problems lasting many years.

Right now - most people are just buying food - and food business is probably only profit-making - otherwise rent people stopped paying for that - buying luxuries is pretty much suspended.

Many sectors are down - nobody is investing or building anything. People have stopped paying loans - so next is for banking crisis - because the whole 'ponzi' need to work -

In meantime Wanjohi is busy with political mischief and taking war to Jubilee :( :) :)

In my professional opinion, the virus is here to stay. Like the HIV virus, Learn to live with it. Promises that a vaccine will be here is December are just promises made by morons who have no idea of the science process involved. So, ensure that everyone who enters private or public property wears a mask, and washes hands before entry. Children need to stay home for now. So, open up and let people develop these safety skills early on.
