Who would have predicted this in 2017? Will his opposers carry out the plan or it is mere threats? ANC Party is supposed to meet on this but that's a small party. What message is Mudavadi sending? As for ODM and Jubilee A it's a no brainer. They will impeach Ruto at the drop of a hat.

Am yet to see who has enough MPs to impeach Ruto. You need 2/3rd. Even intimidation cannot produce such numbers. Don't know which magic.
The only viable plan is to amend constitution as per Orengo and have a Clause that President can sack his Deputy with a simple majority approval of MPs. And you have to make that apply to Ruto this term, that is, it applies immediately..

This matter will most likely come up in the next few days in the rallies and Moi burial speeches. Ruto is not in a good place.

If Raila failed to impeach Ruto in 2010 you think they can impeach now when they are afraid of taking BbI to parliament.If you have supermajority of 235mps..we won't need BBI rallies..we would already enjoy the fruits of BbI.

There's a big difference. Raila is now working with Uhuru on this, there is probably some good reason for impeachment, even some like Kutuny from Ruto's own bedroom are supporting it and there is a possibility Ruto himself does not mind.

Impeachment or even sacking would give Ruto mileage. He is best left where he is : the opposition within the government. He can't indict nor take full credit for the government. Raila 2012.

Seconded: Frustrate but leave him where he is. Of course unless you can tie him directly to a big theft or murder case. Also, we do not have to wait until 2022 to put a government of national unity in place.  After the BBI passes, elections should follow and a GNU in place by 2021. Ruto can then become a big farmer that he always aspired to be. He should retire from politics like  Njonjo did and live longer.

I don't figure Ruto for a Njonjo character. Doesn't know when to cut his losses. He is more likely to dig in and attempt PEV 2 and wind up in exile. He has schemed too hard, too long to give in. Look at him online giving Moi eulogies - he is kind of  gloomy - depression could be setting in.

Kenyan politicians may be chameleons but I think they also see far like Moi's giraffe. They know Ruto is best tamed within. As DP, he has official security that he can't shake off hence his anger with Kibicho. They shadow him officially as a duty. So the impeachment calls are mere threats? Related, did Ruto actually plot for Uhuru's impeachment or it was an excuse for another Joshphat Karanja-Mwenje attempt? Ruto's enemies in Jubilee didn't sound like they were bluffing.
