Right. Except BBI is still here with us dominating the headlines. Uhuru is aware of all these voter or MP statistics and he is least bothered. Moi opposed presidential in 1966 - what stop Ruto from borrowing his wisdom - accept parliamentary in Kalenjin and pastoralist interest? Since Kalenjin / Kamatusa MPs are so many? Being imperial president is more important to him right?
Well, Uhuru is cut from the same cloth.
BBI wazee have published a schedule of meeting leaders in various regions. The rallies are collating the views to hand over to the wazee. Kingi read the Coast resolutions with 16 points on majimbo, land, bla bla. Ruto can do the same but of course his views will be ignored if not politically correct - in western I saw Benji Washiali and Echesa reading parallel resolutions about sugar farmers? Hope they handed over to the wazee lead by Wako.
The wazee will revise BBI from the fresh views to come up with a bill which will be gazetted by IEBC according to katiba process. There is no law requiring any taskforce or Bomas at all - those are politics to ensure widespread acceptance. Uhuru and Raila could as well sit in State House and come up with the bill by themselves - which of course they already did - the rest are optics and motions.
We had these same arguments for last two years - and BBI report came and you lost. The idea that we will have another BBI report is strange . Will we have another Bomas to unveil it? or it won't be televised. I see Raila sort of collecting resolutions from rallies..then what? Will Haji collect them? Or will they go for another town hall in all the 47 counties? Or how will they come round and say we collect more views and made these changes? Maybe Raila will email them? Or post them?
Seems you are stuck in "they are playing Raila" - while the reverse is true. Ruto has capitulated to everything - so when BBI wazee produce 2nd report with Exec PM - he will have a tough time conjuring a new narrative. Parliamentary has been ready since day one and the rest are motions.
Nope. They are trying to snatch the initiative because Raila has turned BBI 1.o into BBI 2.0. The BBI we know is one that was presented. The one in Raila and Robina head with executive PM and a parliamentary system is still work in progress.
Will Haji call another Bomas of Kenya to present another BBI report?
Or are they implementing the BBI recommendations?
