Whatever gema has lost in Nyandarua, Nyeri, Muranga is made up by Kiambu and Nakuru. If the constituency boundaries in Nakuru and Kiambu are gerry mandered.... you get the drift

Looking at figures it appears there is greater urbinization push that saw Nairobi,Kiambu,Nakuru,Kajiado,Machakos,Mombasa and Kilifi add more than 0.5m while counties like Nyamira added 20k people.Most counties are losing people to cities...soon Kiambu,Machakos and Kajiado will become as comsoplitan as Nairobi.

My attempt at tribal MOAS for this census

1) Kikuyu population

Approximately 65% of Kiambu (down from 80% in 2009) -2.4M = 1.6m (Kiambu saw huge increase mostly in areas near Nairobi -ruiru,thika,kabete,Juja - as compared to Githunguri,Gatundu S & N, Lari).

Approximately 45% of Nakuru (down from 52% in 2009) -2.2 =1m (most of Nakuru increment are in-migration - mostly I suspect from Gusii (Nakuru town),Kipsigis (kuresoi) & Luhyas(naivasha))

Approximately 25% of Nairobi (down from 29% in 2009) -4.4m =1.1m (I  also see small decrements as other tribes urbanize)

Approximately 60% of Laikipia (down from 63%) - 0.5m =0.3m ( I see a small decrement on account of Maasai higher birth rate in Laikipia North)

Approximately 95% of Nyeri,Kirinyanga, Muranga and Nyandarau (same as 2009) -0.6+0.8+0.6+1.1m (3.1m) = 2.9m

Approximately 10% of Uasin Gishu -1.2m =0.12m

Approximately 25% of Lamu -0.15 = 0.05m

Approximately 25% of Kajiado (down from 30%) - 1.7 = 0.4m (most pop increment in Kajiado due to in-migration from Nairobi urban brawl)

Small population elsewhere -- Narok (0.1M,Machakos 0.1m,Mombasa & Kilifi 0.2m,Tranzoia,Nandi,Kericho(0.1m)) =0.5m

Total =8m (16.8%) - from 6.6m from 17.5% (declining birth/fertility) in 2009 - about 20% in 1989 - and 22.5% in 70s.

I think you're confusing casual sex with siring babies. Kikuyu women are having 1-2 kids in their lifetime- with their fathers carefully selected.Majority have kids when they are so young and never have another. I don't think they want a baluhya looking kid deep in Muranga - the kid would stand out and they will get into trouble. The contraceptive usage in central is close to 95% - while nationally we are at 57%.
