Census will show Mt Kenya nothing can save them - they need to drop the entitlement - and get ready to compete. First lesson they will get is dog beating in referendum. It like Brexit - noone care about party or loyalty. It will be Kalenjin and Kikuyu vs Kenya.

Lol. What story is that? This thread is about census or population numbers. You have a 100 other threads for similar stuff. Take your own advice.

You are conflicted because GEMA will not accept parliamentary system.you brought siasa here.BBI is a trap.Ryto and Uhuru allows Raila a carte blanche to pick whatever he fancy without as much as whimper..now before report is out...the lines have been drawn... Sometimes I doubt your IQ..but maybe you're book smart but an idiot in life.I was like that immediately after high school...I was convinced everyone and everything was as it appears..I soon discovered humans are double dealers, liars and backstabbing jealous cunts.Dont be naive in this age esp in siasa.Ever since I made that discovery I can read people from miles...I know their true intentions. Most Luis are certainly that way..book smart but otherwise gullible.Treachery is second name for Nandi and kikuyus..ask Arabs of the yore

You are afraid you been taken for a ride by Uhuru. So you deny reality. That worse than low IQ - it delusional. Only a few days and we will see first your Mariga nonsense - then BBI.

Pundit KPLC classifications of regions isn't the same as civic regions. For example the whole of kiambu is classified as Nairobi, Machakos Nairobi, Garissa as Nairobi, Busia as Riftvalley etc. The regions are just where that area billing is done. So there's nothing to glean from those numbers. Maybe you should look at the worldbank research on counties gdp per capita done using nighlights survey https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/Nairobi-ranked-8th-on-World-Bank-list-of-rich--poor-counties--/-/539546/2951310/-/l07jfl/-/index.html

HK - WB data is doggy. I wish KPLC could give us their data as per counties. They have all the data in GIS format - should be easy .
Anyway the reliable data is from KNBS county GDP - and of course counties collection of revenues from own resources.

https://www.knbs.or.ke/download/gross-county-product-2019/

According to GCP - Nairobi led with 21% - followed by Nakuru with 6% - then Kiambu 5% - Mombasa with 4% - the rest of counties play around 0-3% - with majority contributing 1-2% to the country GDP - which seem more credible than any data out there...

Starting from the worst to the best

Isiolo
Samburu
Lamu
Marsabit
Tana River
Mandera
Wajir
Garissa
West Pokot
Taita Taveta
Vihiga
Tharaka Nithi
Laikipia
Busia
Baringo
Kwale
Turkana
Siaya
Migori
Nyamira
Kirinyaga
Kitui
Embu
Makueni
Homa Bay
Kajiado
Nandi
Kili
Trans Nzoia
Elgeyo Marakwet
Kericho
Bomet
Kisii
Nyeri
Narok
Muranga
Bungoma
Uasin-Gishu

The KNBS was based on revenue collection mostly. So the likes of nyandarua for example with many flower farms ended up having an exaggerated contribution to GDP. The more the county is formalized the higher the ranking.

What do you mean revenues? You mean taxes. I think KRA did once release breakdown of old districts - and the data had Nairobi at 33% - Mombasa was 12-15% (customs) - and Nakuru, Kisumu, Mombasa & Kiambu - were around 4-5% - and rest of countries were playing 0-2%.

GCP is methodoloy is based on county % contribution to GDP. For Nyandarua & Elgeyo Marakwet suprise was mostly due to agriculture. They contribute about 50% of potatoes in Kenya. Potato is second important crop after maize.

The GCP report emphasized production contribution to GDP, while the other world report emphasized consumption per capita. Consumption is an indicator of income levels.
