That's a good direction in biofuels.  It saves trees and as Brazil has shown is apparently very renewable.

Biofuels before we have mastered food security is a disaster waiting to happen.

I see reliable energy in general as key, even to food security.  But yes, nothing should be done at the expense of food security.

With some organization, you can have biofuels, solar farms etc side by side with massive irrigation schemes.
