I think April Fool's day is still far away or am I wrong? :D :D :D

Surely are there only jokers in the Kenyan govt. Had it been Sonko presenting this fantasy ideas I would have accepted since he is still high on the bhangi he smoked with Waititu those days in parliament. Why can't these govt officials just take a small walk to UoN and consult the learned town planners there?
Once those hawkers have settled in the CDB you will not get them out even on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. This is just another recipe for chaos. Nairobi's CDBis already on its knees and this is just a kick of the dying horse.

Quote
The PS said this will generate Sh39.5 million daily revenue to the government from over 100,000 hawkers.

These jokes hurt the poor more- people walk around town as they look for matatus and hence buy from hawkers- once you remove the matatus tired people will be heading straight to Railways or Ngara leaving the ghost town to hawkers.

The tenderpreneurs and the government officials have learnt the things that excite Uhuru and thus they push all these nonsense to keep Uhuru excited.

That could be a sound reason. So now 100,000 hawkers from Kiambu and Muranga will be making their way to CDB on two days in the week.

That the only way this makes sense. Why we are encouraging hawking and used clothing in this century is beyond me.

Where is Governor Mike Sonko in this? We could need some intellectual input from him on this issue. :D :D :D

It is luck of creativity on the part of our leaders. Surely had Uhuru some intellectual capacity he would have fired the Transport CS yesterday evening.
At this rate UoN should introduce a new carriculum on hawking as it will be one of the biggest employment sectors in Kenya.
Btw, what happened to the thousands of IT jobs for the youth CS Mucheru mentioned several months back?

That the only way this makes sense. Why we are encouraging hawking and used clothing in this century is beyond me.

The hawkers are being allowed into the city because of the plan to start so-called "BRT" bus services in Nairobi. The consequence will be loss of employment among Kikuyu youths. This group is now being given an alternative opportunity to hawk freely within the city!! (aka Kikuyu privilege!)

Now if it were, for example maize or sugar farmers, they'd be told that their practices are inefficient/archaic and must look for other opportunities or else perish!

The madness has been suspended just like Sonkos silly idea of no matatus in the CBD without an alternative. I guess they are taking time to inform muggers and hawkers appropriately.  :D
