As if the High Court would have ruled anything else. Problem in Kenya there are govt officers who behave as if they are above the law. The likes of Matiangi and that other army general at immigration think just because they have backing from SH they can do what they want just to please their master.
Miguna is Kenyan. We should now prepare to give him a rousing welcome at JKIA.

The problem is whether Miguna will be able to collect the award from the likes of Mitiangi.  This is the correct ruling although the award is too little for the damages caused.  The timing of the ruling is also curious because it somehow coincides with relative political stability in the country and Miguna's return may not be as dramatic as earlier on.

You're right.

It's a serious situation when something as basic as citizenship has to be decided in court when even mama mboga knew the obvious. It amounts to waste of public funds to subject such matters to court action. Matiangi and Kiha-something should have saved this wastage of public funds. Okoiti Omtatah or Apollo Mboya should pursue the public interest case on the abuse of office by these two busybodies. Mig Mig should pursue the AG appeal and seek higher compensation. Has his house been repaired? Raila was in Nyando with Uhuru and mentioned the swearing in but I didn't hear anything about Mig Mig.

I do not see the confusion.  The ruling is correct interpretation of the law and that's what should be celebrated regardless of whether MM is the beneficiary or not. One can celebrate the ruling without celebrating MM's antics. This ruling is important to natural born Kenyans who became citizens before 2010 without renouncing their Kenyan citizenship.  According to this ruling, those Kenyans do not have to reapply for the reinstatement of their citizenship because they never lost it in the first place. Kenyans who belong to this class should just apply for a Kenyan passport as a renewal or a lost passport like any other Kenyan and should not be treated any differently as if they somehow lost their citizenship when they acquired the citizenship of another country before the dual citizenship in the 2010 constitution was promulgated.
