Ruto to get PhD on 21st December
« on: November 27, 2018, 02:19:47 PM »
Our beloved and hard working DP will finally graduate and get the well earned title of PhD. Between his heavy worload as DP and at the same time campaigning for 2022 presidential election, this man has been able to write thesis and carry out research to earn this title. What a role model for the youth of this country :D :D :D

Mr Ruto has been pursuing the doctorate, the highest degree awarded by a university, since August 2012
.....
Last month, Mr Ruto was late to the launch of the TVET Curriculum Framework in Gigiri, but he explained to the students that he had to meet his supervisors on the finalisation of his coursework.
.....
Mr Ruto, who is eyeing the presidency in 2022, can move to the lecturer hall should he lose, since he meets the CUE's requirements for teaching staff.

@KaInsect,

Those who know a little about PhD know that you attend classes the first two years or so, and subsequently your remaining years are spent on thesis until you defend it successfully.

So two things here, @kadudu, you need to go far back than just 2017 or 2022;  firstly how was WSR still doing "coursework until last month"?

Secondly in 2012, when WSR was supposed to be attending classes he had been indicted and with that mill stone around his neck, hustler had to campaign hard in a do or die 2013 elections.

The only foresight I give hustler here is that he is not stuck in politics forever. If he loses in 2022, he has a respectful job waiting for him at a University!

Now, what would be a greater disaster for Kenya and Africa as a whole

A) Ruto winning 2022 PORK

B) Ruto Actually teaching at a Kenyan university

I do not see the disaster in him teaching at a Kenyan university. He does not need to teach in his faculty. The university can create a new faculty of Hustler Economy. How to make it from selling chickens to multi-billionaire. He would be head of this new faculty with the likes of Murkommen and Keter as his side kicks.

People with PhDs are like celebs, they don't run the system, are ignored by those who do, and are hindered by intellectualising. Weak leaders intellectualise matters and I see that with Ruto which was the same chip Raila used to have. People forget what a prodigy Raila was.

I went to 4 vision setting meetings this week. The first was a strategy for the whole institution and that was rubbish. The second was at the local level and that was rubbish. The third was watching celebs discuss the future of peer review and that was rubbish. The other was a meeting with admin staff and librarians where we discussed the weaknesses and strengths in scopus, scival, incites, and other platforms and speculated on how evil companies might be monopolising outputs to shackle institutions to their beloved rankings. We quietly and fervently discussed strategies on fighting evil by shifting data collection away from impact factors and prestige. The fact we have authority to do this because those higher up are too occupied with promoting themselves was empowering. I guess my point is when celebs intellectualise rather than consult, consult and consult like RAO, then they are best off dreaming up unicorns and being royally pissed off rude, white & entitled in public like Ruto, and stay the fk outta the fire.
