The corrupt Democrats, just like their friends in the Republican Party are terrified! Fox news people having losing their minds ever since that New York chick, Alexandria Orcazio-Cortez won a few months ago. Fear mongering about Venezuela (a country whose economy the US is actively fighting to ground!) has been going on non-stop for months now. Never mind that they are NOT proposing socialism, these US folks: the corporate media just keep pushing that false narrative nonetheless.

I'd say they are part of the future.  As are NAZI Republicans.   The current Democratic party will take in fleeing non-Trumpist Republicans - the type that is uncomfortable with open racism, but fine with disguised dog-whistles.  Barney Sanders socialists will have to find something else like a Green party, but they will be substantial.

Tell me, do you consider Australia where you live to be in the state of anarchy? I live in Europe and have know ever since I came here that American Tea-partiers are insane or evil. They literally have a philosophy based wholly on Cain's question in Genesis "Am I my brother's keeper?" In addition, the "Centrists" are not really centrist at all, they support an oligarchy, both Democrats and Republicans. Mainstream Democrats are just Republicans without the bigotry.

Europe is NOT socialist, and neither is Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa. No developed country is socialist. It's all bull.

They are Capitalists with robust social welfare. That's it! And that's what Social Democrats in the US also want, not "socialism" That's called propaganda by mainstream media who are part of the American oligarchy/status quo.

The only difference between them and us in Kenya are their better rule of law and small-time corruption. In many way they are worse since the people who bear the brunt of their greed and selfishness and plain evil, are people in South America, the Middle East and parts of Africa and Asia. They are now pushing for a war with Putin just to get the idiot Trump, instead of focussing on his corruption #Russiagateisahoax

But their system is NOT for the little guy. Only a heartless person opposes universal healthcare where it's possible. No excuses.

A large black and also brown population is the main distinction between the US and the rest of the west.  It also explains quite a few otherwise strange quirks, among them the idea that it is almost always impossible to find fault with a police shooting.  They will accept a few collateral white victims for the greater cause.  America is still smarting from the civil war.

Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, I stopped watching them ages ago.  Some people are just vile and there is no getting through to them.  But they are in a minority that has gotten a new injection of energy with the the rise of Trumpism.

Universal health care is becoming very popular amongst mainstream Democrats compared to not too long ago when Obamacare was being put together. I think in the next few years universal healthcare will be mainstream thanks to Obamacare.  The Clinton democrats are dying-off and the Bernie Sanders Democrats will be the mainstream of the Democratic party.

Hi Kadame, you think like an old person from a mature generation. The emerging generation are entitled savages. I deal with them daily. Up to my generation we were people and respected institutions except for me. My exception is now becoming the norm. Students exploring loopholes and testing the system to get what they want. They don't respect community, family, the status quo or autonomy. They want to feel. It's a level of rebellion that has seeped into their political culture. In the past the Democrats filled that void, now centrist parties aka alt. frameworks like Trump, Macron do it for millienials. What comes next? Political evolution doesn't go backwards aka social democrats-communism & nazims back in the 1950s. The next generation need anarchy, war. Not in the traditional sense but a disruption, a break, a tremendous upheaval. The clique most sensible in understanding and paving this culture I believe, as history has shown, will promulgate from the academia. I've been studying and observing this closely.

Let me also add communism, social democracy is Marxism and evolved from the Enlightenment - Hegel & the philosophers. Nazism evolved from psychologists. A bunch of academics crafted the third reich which had a loophole and Hitler took advantage of it. He was then inspired by behaviorists/psychologists and used their theories to write policies that would preserve a super race and kill off any persons with disabilities, black, asian, pygmies, gypsies and jews. These academics had a poor understanding of the common man. This is why even today strong democracies don't consult with the academia for political matters. In the future, these institutions will no longer serve purpose.
