Ruto terms of surrender
« on: July 02, 2018, 02:27:34 PM »
1. He will agree to lifestyle audit
2. He will not oppose referendum
3. All corrupt urp cabinet secretaries and their appointees will be purged and charged
4. Stop all the talk of 2022 till when campaigns are finally announced
5. All the money looted at ncpb will be refunded to farmers

Uhurus promise
No use of kra harrassment
Ruto will consulted on referendum. His camp will now be included in handshake talks

Ruto felt betrayed and was livid. Uhuru was at pains to explain his deal with raila.. however, he did say he was worried to be the president under who Kenya split. Aslo all donors demanded he form an alliance with raila to end political violence..

Ruto will continue meeting leaders in central and to work with uhuru to rebuild the relationship

Ruto had to surrender for now if he had to live and fight another day.  Kittuny was right and Murkomen advice was foolhardy.  Either way he has been cut down to size. The next step is to cut him off from the big sources of corruption money and let him have what he already looted like a true Kalenjin then watch him like a hawk in case he gets careless and leaves enough evidence behind to nail him on something huge. If he survives prosecution, let him go into the 2022 elections with his image diminished, bruised, bleeding and wearing the corruption moniker around his neck.  The sharks and the hyena's will then finish him off during the campaign season.  I think Ouru/Gema want Ruto to be defeated soundly at the ballot that way they are not accused of sabotaging him and they can say, Ruto had it all but greed/ impatience/anxiety did him in.  That is the best way to protect  the hostages in RV. Now if the RV Warriors attack the hostages anyway, then they can go ahead and shoot them in the name of government intervention to protect lives and property.

That Ruto is being discussed tells me he is the man to beat. That's quite something

You sound desperate. If ICC didn't nail Ruto stop thinking they are short-cut to power. You gotta work for it the way Ruto is doing. Campaigning 24-7s. There is no surrender on that. Ruto will be all over Kenya looking for his votes. The small matter of Uhuru I told you he couldn't survive a week of Ruto onslaught. You saw him cancel AU meeting to discuss urgent matters - because he is smart enough to know - Ruto is more lethal than rained on cat Raila.

Basically Raila has no leverage - he can only promise GEMA the future. Ruto has leverage - he can hurt GEMA now and in the future. Ruto played this very smart. He went hammers on day 1 - and now Uhuru will not want another crisis meeting soon - so you bet all the issues were ironed out and the civil servants who were trying to make themselves principals in Jubilee are warned.

Or not.  The context of the discussion matters.  He does not seem like a guy who thrives without levers of power.  And he does not have the Baba-charm to make up for that.  He might be able to excite Kalenjin murderous fanaticism.  But that's not enough for a first down.
