I don't know if Raila has been paid. I do think he has done more than enough. It's now time to move beyond him. He should remain quiet about politics henceforth. Gema mafia has demonized him to Gema pple enough so that he has even become an obstacle in the development of a cross tribal mass movement against the government. Let the masses be fed up enough that a nationwide anti corruption revolution errupts. That will solve the problem once and for all. Corruption must become the last thing you want to be accused of because no one will save you from the consequences.
That way, whatever political systems/institutions we put in place will actually work. The problem is our culture. But no one likes to talk about culture because its harder to change. So we focus on the political system. But we could have the neatest, most well-thought-through system ever designed and still we'll be here because the thuggish clique/class will always find a way to subvert it. They do this because they know that despite the hullabaloo, the people are ultimately tolerant of it. When the people finally get sick beyond sick and they cant find support in any corner of the land, thugs are gonna adapt to clean forms of making and keeping their money. You'll see.
