I am with Pundit on 8.8.2017...

Except it has been debunked.  As many times as it is repeated, it will be challenged.  A Kenyan court realized they couldn't just sanitize it.  That is how bad it was.  IEBC actions, during and after only throw more water on the so called MOAS.  It cannot just be wished to reality against documented facts.

but the outcome of 2017 is irrelevant to 2022 politics. This is a Trojan. The handshake makes fighting Raila quite hard because you cannot use water canons and all camps are claiming to unite Kenyans. Sonko's anti-GEMA utterances show the emerging internal strife... and this is shaping up as the battle royale between Ruto and Raila: Kenya's absolute finest.

I agree 2017 is behind us, whether we acknowledge the facts or not.  Baba effectively closed that chapter by throwing in the towel for a comfortable life which was briefly interrupted last night.  I think he is going to stay the course, and that throws 2022 wide open.  Despite what Pundit claims, he has an upper hand in Western and coast if he runs.  It looks like he will run.  I saw him on youtube running after Miguna.   Raila is fixing to run until he is 150.  I think he has probably lost ukambani.  GEMA grumblings and night meetings will be a loud chorus in a year or so.

Raila is looking for money and patronoage to hold onto Coast+western. He aint getting any. Ruto will take COAST - that is already apparent. Raila last man standing there is Joho - the rest have bailed out - including Kingi and Asian billionaires who backed him. As for western --mmh I don't see how he can survive the assault by MaDVD+Wetangula - that leave him scrambling for few votes in Busia and parts of Kakamega - and maybe Iteso - now with Oparanya and Ojamong set to not ran again - they are not going to be Raila poddles - and are looking into making the deal.

Raila will have to support Ruto or he'll get kicked out of the coalition. Uhuru after honey-moon will make that very clear.
