I'd reckon they're desperate. Really desperate. After all, they've no jobs, no money, and the only certainty they have is have no clue if their lot in life is ever gonna change.
So like a mad bull terrier, they'll hang onto Raila's promises with all their strength for just that one tiny chance of betterment. After all, what more do they really have to lose?
A couple of weeks ago, coming back from Europe and looking down at the Mediterranean, it hit me, as always, that while we're complaining about the food, IFE, etc., literally thousands of desperate people are struggling to cross over in makeshift boats.
