Parliament and Senate speaker position seems already decided
« on: August 29, 2017, 07:02:25 PM »
National Speaker Justin Muturi deputized by Cheboi.
Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka deputized by either Kihika or Kangata. Kick in the teeth for Wetangula(Minority leader) whose has to contend with Lusaka both in Senate & in Bukusu politics.

Former senate speaker Ekwe Ethuro will get soft landing for not being doing enough - in his job and in turkana politics.

Most likely he will get nothing - he performed dismally in Turkana unlike Lusaka who delivered several MPs and 30% for Uhuru. I think he has been dumped by Ruto otherwise he would not be running against Lusaka.

Muturi is not much better except he is Uhuru's Kanu buddy. Ruto seems to be lining up loyal Gema to ward off any challenge ahead of 2022. I expect Murang'a guys to be rewarded - likely Irungu Kang'ata will get the Senate Deputy Speaker at Susan Kihika's expense.

Western Kenya is used to Kikuyus imposing "leaders" who they use to terrorize the legitimate leaders of the people. In Nyanza we had:
1. Odongo Omamo
2. Isaac Okero
3. Okiki Amayo

In Western we had:

1. James Osogo
2. Burudi Nabwera
3. Oprong Oduya
4. Okondo

So bringing in Lusaka is nothing new. Note however that he did not win the seat as you predicted. That is despite having two opponents sharing votes. The IEBC called it off because Bungoma would have burned to ashes. In revenge they have gazetted losers as MCAs

National Speaker Justin Muturi deputized by Cheboi.

Omollo are the things you say true? That losers have been gazetted as MCAs in Bungoma. NASA is another PNU splitting votes everywhere - look at Lamu governor for example. And those Kanu leaders you mention were imposed by Moi, no? In central they had Kamotho, Chotara, etc.

Feckless Kibaki was no imposer - in Luo he laughably picked Tuju  :) In 2007, most Kikuyus gnashed their teeth as astute Raila clobbered their inept man at every turn. What is happening now is that the tide has turned. A fresh strategy will be needed to dislodge the winning camp.

Matusa are being taken care of by Duale & Murkomen (all pastoralist united). MATUSA have to stop sharing votes & giving ODM space. That's the message Ekwe Ethuro will deliver home. Looking at the line-up I think Jubilee seem keen to court & reward Luhya & Gusii - and of couse the GEMA+RV must keep the lion share.

Jubilee got very few coast Mps. ODM swept nearly the whole of Kilifi-Mombasa-Kwale. Only Mwashetani & Iron lady of Taita Naomi Shaban seem to have survived. Therefore parliament wise - Jubilee need to wait for auction market to re-open - so they can buy ODM mps amongst the Mijikenda. That I think is Ruto biggest headache - he need to make a deal with Joho & Kingi - they've proven they are not clay kings.

Faarah Malim is one dude I'd vote for without thinking. Cool guy, extremely sober

Lusaka is just DPORK's project 2022, strongly doubt he will make his mark

Really. The Farah Maalim I know is hot-headed somali-ogaden nationalist who probably led us to war via Prof Madobe.
