Empedocles - Interesting article on how to beat GEMA
« on: August 24, 2017, 12:38:45 PM »
I must say the one guy who has a template on beating GEMA is one Jackson Mandago. How he turned a situation where he was losing 54% versus 45% (pun fully intended) to winning is 54% to 44% and beating GEMA to submission in Uasin Gishu is template folks need to study. How he beat Buzeki both in nomination & main election when it was obvious he was only popular amongst the Nandi is truly admirable(If you admire politics for it's sake). It has to be a multi-pronged strategy. You cannot act like Odinga and go hammer to hammer with GEMA 24-7 365 days. And you cannot act like dull mule Kalonzo of 2007-2013 & pray GEMA will just meekly support you. I want folks to watch how Ruto will win GEMA support - at which point - it won't even matter because Ruto will be winning by nearly 60%. Mult-pronged strategy. Actually think Ruto has already "won" GEMA support.

Mandago issued a clear threat to make Uasin Gishu burn. It was not in the interest of Uthamaki for Mandago to join NASA. They reversed whatever they had programmed. Keter was sacrificed.

Mandago was basically hated by everyone except nandis (30% of Uasin Gishu) - Keiyo,Marakwet, Luo, Luhya and Gikuyus were all agreed that Mandago had ran tribalistic regime. But he still won. He combined everything - threats, deals, alliances, party(jubilee) - the whole shebang - and turned a situation where he was certain to lose to a certain win.

Which Keter was sacrificed - Alfred Keter won with a landslide in Nandi. WSR will need to make "peace" with Mandagos/Keters/IsaacRutos because they'll be guys doing heavy lifting while he'll be smiling and look good before cameras.

I did not check. One of you wrote here that he had lost. They were three : Sudi, Mandago and Keter. So I was wondering how Keter alone could lose. My Kalenjin wife comes from Nandi Hills. But its not been an issue seeing we were robbed by Chirchir and you at National level.
