Dry run of the IEBC's result a pure lie!!!
« on: August 02, 2017, 06:25:36 PM »
Seems the IEBC software is just a piece of junk . Chebukati says if there is a discrepancy between the alphanumeric and the scanned form 34B(presidential), only the latter prevails. what he doesn't know is that a scanned document doesn't have OCR. Meaning someone has to actually sit on the backend and update the relevant database table.

did i hear that they have send some guys to the field to transmit test data??? Only a clown would buy this junk.
They should have done the tests with the gadgets right there with them where by someone actually scans the form and its transmitted and updated on the API.

Well, testing from counties also tests signal strength there as oppose due to Bomas where none of the kit will be.

Note that the relevant forms 34A,B,C,D and 35 are the valid bits. Transmission merely relays their contents to tallying centers faster as opposed to transporting them manually. So it makes sense to regard the manually input results as provisional with the forms being the final arbiters of the exact votes.

Media witnessing the transmission at Bomas had no idea where the results were coming from. They should have dispatched journalists to the relay centers just to confirm...a story it stands, they went there to watch Chebukati

The way I understand it is they are planning to manually read form 34B from the constituency to come up with the final tally.

Remember scanned forms are part of what is to be transmitted electronically from constituency level. Before the RO presses send button they have to mandatorily attach the relevent form 34.
That means soemeone has to sit at thr backend and update the db after validating that the form and text  read similar results. In the event the numbers dont tally, then only the figures from scanned form to be updated.
This has to require manual intevention from back end.

Yep.  And there are two levels where this workflow is replicated.  At the constituency when they get form 34A.  And at the national tally when they get form 34B.  There will be plenty of transcription going around.  Because they'll be using forms 34A/B anyway, it seems pointless to do anything but scan and send the forms at the polling stations.
