The only way Jubilee has a chance of retaining power this time around is to rig. Ouruto is like a wounded lion right now and very dangerous. They are doing and will do anything to win.

I have seen Uhuru who has concentrated single-mildly on his election campaign. I don't see any panic. I see Uhuru preparing for  a win and preparing to quash any post-election violence. I see NASA that wakes up daily and conjure lies against IEBC - when not rushing to court or press --with latest cooked story.

I've been reading fb comments on the missing IEBC ICT fella. They mirror the comments on this board.

Jubilee supporters are convinced that NASA are responsible, did it to stall elections. NASA supporters are convinced that Jubilee is responsible, did it to ensure manual counting/tallying (and enable rigging).

Both sides believe the other side is driven by desperation.

Just a note. There are two Kenyas.

How much drama shall swirl around this election, honestly? In the past few days, I've already heard three hot stories: one in Dubai, one about KDF, another about the DPORK's house being under seige, and here is a fourth one already: missing IEBC ICT head. My head is spinning. What's going on in that country called Kenya?
Usual political antics around election time.. Nothing.. wait for a mother of all dramas on 8.8.17..I think Jubilee has calculated to let NASA shout itself hoarse and not respond to it antics.. If Jubilee joined this mayhem the country will burn..
Wait: Are you saying that NASA has created all these situations? Even the thing in Ruto's house?
Nope but each side is playing games..NASA is working to scuttle rigging by blowing whistle on anything and everything..jubilee too is using incumbency to play to their advantage and frustrate NASA..politics so dirty so dirty and childish..even in USA you would think that the world is about to end  .everyside plays dirty tricks until one side loses and cries ..Republican are hardcore they just fight and if they lose they go back and find more tricks to sabotage the government..Democrats are faint hearted they fight and once they lose they start screaming victimization..

My advise is for Raila to on 8.8 ..if it is apparent he will lose to be decisive in preparing his supporters to accept defeat. In my heart off hearts I do not see a path for Nasa to win ..all polls point that the incumbent had advantage ..

We need to pull pack and end the games. I hope no on heads to supreme Court. We need to keep political shit out of our courts.. I say we battle until after the votes..

I feel for young NASA supporters they are not prepared to lose

Facebook is a dangerous echo chamber..it is gut wrenching place. It really shows how deep the division is. There is no niceties. It is choo dot com amplified..the hate that NASA supporters have against this government is just too much..win or lose Kenya will lose big time ..once a big Chuck of population feels cheated you cannot get progress.

Kenya is Nigeria in making once oil gets following blood and terrorism will flow all over..it is possible we will end up with a Somali sheikh in power and religious conflict will just add fuel to tribal conflict..once middle East decided decides to meddle in geo politics of oil Kenya will be doomed

If NASA is behind it, we should get hints to that effect pretty soon from Kenya Police no less.  I don't claim to know who is behind it or why.  But it can make it very convenient to go the manual way because the dog ate the IT director.

I don't believe NASA are stupid enough to attack the DPORK or any IEBC guy. They know they'll be eaten alive. I'm just commentin on the picture of "cohesion" (or lack of it) that this paints. It's amazing. And sad. I of course am very suspicious myself. But now, even more than suspicious, I'm worried. About the country.

I also don't get the impression that NASA want to sabotage the election.  They are unhappy with what they consider unpreparedness.  Jubilants on the other hand seem to have no issues with IEBC shortcomings.  I mean they don't seem to even mind that the voter register is not down pat.  Or maybe they mind, but since NASA is concerned about it, their opposition to NASA comes above all else.

This how it works. the guy will show abroad and claim to have evidence of rigging ..the problem is that the game is full of treachery that most of these guys genuinely decide to bail out for fear.

Everyone from iebc NASA and jubilee is playing games.. corruption even makes easy to compromise and blackmail each other..

Exactly, this is an us vs them. Any problems raised will be labelled whining/distractions from elections. My biggest concern the other day was the ballots but then it was overtaken by the threat of KDF deployment. Now I don't even know. I'm bracing myself for another bomb to drop tomorrow. Maybe someone big will declare he is a woman trapped in a man's body? Really, who knows at this point?

What advantage is for Jubilee to worry about the system..they have advantage of incumbency..it is like Republicans fighting for electroral reforms they won't because they are favored by the system..

Right now jubilee feels it has the numbers to beat NASA so they are just keeping NASA distracted and on defensive..NASA should be on the offensive push but they cannot they are distracted and demoralized..nasa voters in places like Nairobi and rv will bolt home because they want to be safe than sorry .

Even when moi won with simple game of minority rule opposition always claimed rigging ..

I am not saying this is what is happening and wish I could put it past IEBC, but I would bail if I was asked to add some algorithm favoring the jubilants in the transmissions.  You know like being asked to make sure each transmission that happens, takes into account the current running tallies for all other transmissions and makes adjustments if necessary.

But if someone is confident of winning in a clean environment, they should be wary of unreliable systems.  Unless they are sure of benefiting from the unreliability.

Yeah he would bail..what we learnt with chickengste is that these guys get recruited because they are corrupt and greedy. Oswago was eating while trying to play neutral ..these guys choose sides and mostly they choose the side in power coz it can offer protection..a guy like this was probably compromised from day one but now cannot trust jubilee and decides to bolt. Once in safe have he will start spinning a yarn

They are wary because they can out rig NASA..that is the reality of the game..in 2007 everyside rigged odm had the numbers but the state still had an ace card since they had the machinery to make the last call..

My thing is that NASA has no chance in hell to win overwhelmingly. In my own opinion there no path for Nasa  win unless key jubilee strongholds rebel and pull a suprise So nasa must accept the fact that they can only outsmart the state up to a point

So I guess you believe Pundit's MOAS.  But the point is, if you have the numbers, why risk it with a broken system?  The idea that NASA will rig will gain some currency with me, when it is demonstrated that monopoly of state violence is shared by NASA.  In Kenya, institutions remain only nominally independent, even though the constitution grants them full independence.  Boinett for instance still relies on instructions from above.

Funny, I have watched Ouru too, and I see an overwhelmed, desperate candidate on the verge of throwing in the towel if not for people who depend on his presidency.

Jubilee are campaigning like crazy. Holding rallies 200 plus rallies nearly every week and spending billions of money. They know the game will be decided in the ballot box and it is nearly impossible to rig without raising suspicion. Jubilee won clean in 2013. They intend to win clean in 2017. NASA are either naive - by allowing themselves to be distracted by useless fight with IEBC - IEBC have been nothing but open book - they have allowed NASA to look at every hole and find any rat - or they know they aint winning. I mean apart from compromised Infotrak and sijui Zogby - the opinion polls from 2013 - have consistently shown Uhuru at  plus or near 50% of the vote. I mean since 2013 there are only two polls - showing Raila leading by 1% - internal poll and compromised poll :D.

When someone talk about rigging now - in any scale to let you win - I think they are nuts. Even if 10% of systems IEBC has put in place were to work - how would one rig any serious scale? Maybe rig remote places like Mandera - but how do you rig Nairobi? Coast? Nyanza? Western? RV? Central?  Max of 700 votes; electronic identification; agents; observers; electronic transmission; even if it fails like in 2013 - the data is already saved in those machines - they may not transmit - but you can dig out the figures saved - all the paper trail. If any rigging will be attempted - it will be easy to flag it.Everyone would know rigging...Kibaki started witholding results from his strongholds...with votes from Marsabit arriving faster than those in Ruiru or Tharaka.

Rigging post 2002 - when counting & tallying shifted to polling station - is really hard to conceal. In 92-97 - ballot stuffing happen because counting would be done in central places - so KANU would simply stuff or swap ballot boxes on the way to center.

Post 2002 - any rigging will be known - like Kibaki 2007 rigging. No way Ruiru votes can appear 5 days later after Mandera, Marsabit and Turkana have airlifted theirs.

Uhuru is popular incumbent romping back to statehouse bila wasiwasi.

NASA has already penetrated Jubilee strongholds and that is why I do not buy into the MOAS which is based on Jubilee maintaining its 2013 numbers with a few inconsequential adjustments.  Also, NASA has extended its 2013 strongholds.  What we are now waiting upon is the turn-outs which we will not know until after the elections.  If NASA Succeeds into getting a huge turn-out in their strongholds then you have  a very decisive win for NASA.
