In a country like Kenya which is known for uncontrolled sexual debauchery, I think a day or two of abstinence would help a lot

You hit it.

In this election you must appeal to the majority - some 8 - 9 m youthful voters. If you start telling them about Mtu wa Vitendawili and throw other matusi you get nowhere. Hence Ruto has been having problems where Raila and Uhuru get passes.

Uhuru uses his fluency in Swahili to get attention. He does not stammer or falter.

Raila - i must admit age has caught up - stammers a bit but makes up for it with comic relief. He has a way with youth - the use of metaphors whether talking about Donkey Fart or useless man boobs - he excites them. Of course the imaginary and metaphorical football commentating is very popular.

But nothing can replace credibility. Jubilee over engaged in corruption and it is paying for it.

Translation "ni ngumu". What Raila advised is "no sex" on the eve of election.  They do this in the military and before  important team/individual sports games.  Its just a matter of emphasizing the importance of the event but I am sure there will be no sex police. Turn out in Nyanza was an issue last time and these are one of the loop holes NASA is trying to plug.

Raila is a natural born politician. He knows how to grab the headlines and start conversations even without trying....now majority of Kenyans will be talking and joking about this for couple days. In politics any attention and publicity is good you just have to find a way to channel the energy. This talk will invigorate the base, people have to understand the fierce urgency of Now...this is a war for the soul and heart of this country and we must discard the thieving duo to the political dustbin.

Actually he said married couples should not have sex. That means unmarried and those with mpango wa kando are free to do their thing.
