I cannot stand the Israeli government under Bibi. Bibi is a typical conservative who wants to play dirty but cry like a baby if the same treatment is dished to them. Israel has finally been able to piss everyone that they are now calling its bluff. I hope most people realize that most of the terrorists from Jordan are former Israel citizens who were displaced by Jews and are refugees in Jordan. It is funny how we moved from stopping Hitler to letting the fate of middle east be determined by a wailing wall of religious zealots in Jerusalem. if it was within my power I would demolish the freaking wall.. why can't Israel realize that a Jew state wont survive forever and make alliance strategically with Palestine to keep some of the state intact ..If USA empire collapses today how would Israel survive

Israel has always enjoyed impunity, thanks to Uncle Sam's veto.  With the US, the tail has been wagging the dog for some time now.  They always listen to the US, but because they know its Israel-Palestinian policy is simply a rubber stamp of Israelis views.

With Obama, there is, of course a new dynamic.  The man is black.  In fact, you can bet everything Netanyahu has done to disrespect him, would neither be tolerated in US political circles, or countenanced by Bibi himself, if Obama were a white male.  He would never ever dream of addressing congress behind W's, Bill Clinton or Trump's back.  In that sense, he has a good grasp of the lines he can cross and those he can not dare, in American politics.

In a nutshell, in addition to extreme right wing views, Netanyahu is simply a racist who is resentful of having been a junior partner to a Negro.

Americans especially Liberals now want USA to stop giving Israel 3.5 billion in military Aid. So it is going very hard for Bibi to get away with his behavior and get away with it. I think Netanyahu visit to congress has irreparably harmed US relations with Israel and nothing short of him leaving power ill repair this.

They have fought wars with their neighbours before. I think sometimes people forget that much more than the American big brother factor, those wars essentially ceased once Arabs realized that Israel had nuclear weapons and would use them if push came to shove. In the world in which we live, nuclear powers are not willy-nilliliy invaded. That's why Palestinians have resorted to Hamas and its tactics, Iran to Hezbollah, and why middle-Easterners have been trying to get their hand on nukes for decades. Its why Israel will go crazy before they allow one of them to (eye on Iran), they will do anything, even full on attack. If they get them, that threat is effectively neutralized and the world can wake up to 1967 Arab-Israeli wars, whatever the US may say about it. The US has been instrumental to Israel on the diplomatic front (and my own conspiracy theory is that it was Amercans who gave Israelis nukes) but I don't think they stopped those middle eastern wars just by being big scary USA nor think that they could do it today if they started up once again. This is a mess I think only a miracle could resolve.

The last Arab vs Israel war was in the 60s. Without USA appeasement of Egypt and bribery of dictators in midde east Israel existence is not guaranteed. Nuclear power is very limited in it is effictiveness due to the repercussions of its use. Yes it is a deterrent but Israel or any other nation wont be allowed to deploy nuclear weapons that easily by other countries. Right now everyone knows that the responsible thing to do is to allow a two state solution. Israel wants to delay this as long as it can. How long this works is anyones guess. Remember Trump has promised of total disengagement with the rest of the world until he can fix USA problems.

Israel is banking on Trump getting on their side or just letting status quo remain. I do not see Trump bothering to commence summits for peace agreement.

Right now there is no appetite within Congress or among USA population of more involvement in middle east. Syria was a pointer of what US thinks about intervention. So it will be hard for Trump to convince his supporters that he needs to abandon his trade war with China to focus on Israel and Palestine

Israel has little to do with religion. It's a prime geopolitical location for USA airbases for disrupting the Middle East. Zionist idealism is a nice sell for homeless "Jews" who can't afford to migrate to NY. Israeli Jews come from very poor backgrounds. It's like interacting with uneducated folks from developing countries. Countries like Iran excel far beyond scientifically, academically etc. than the Israelis & the Israelis feel threatened by it. Israel is regressing rapidly because it enshrines racism, authoritarianism, religious zeal & persecutes other religions & races.

Palestine belongs to the Palestinians because they did such a good job for centuries embracing Jews, Christians and Muslims. People are quick to overlook, out of the 14 million Palestinians living on the outskirts since they were kicked out of their homes 50 or so years ago so 2 million self professed Jews (we don't even know if they're really Jewish) can live there, fact is more Palestinians are Jewish than those "Zionist Jews" or self professed Jews living in Israel today. Where's the logic in that ?
