I didnt know Bernie was advocating for big government?
He's an advocate of a strong middle class, and a ruling class devoid of corruotion. Enriching oneself by using a legal system that is skewed is itself corruption at the worst.

We need someone who can run against the system. They have taken all tax money meant for projects and siphoned it to their accounts. So Uhuru keeps borrowing to pay for development and even this is siphoned and only  pennies to the shilling finally reach their destination. We need someone who can "clean the swamp". A Bernie sanders.

The likes of bernie sanders wouldnt do anything only exacerbate the situation. Anyone advocating for enlargement of government is bound to open new avenues for corruption. The solution is starving the beast that's the government and reducing the scope of government. The government should concentrate on few areas like infrastructure. Anytime when government officials tries to create things artificially like kazi kwa vijana or the nys program we end up with not only corruption but ridiculous wastage.

Expanding role of government in higher education and healthcare is expanding the size and scope of government. Anyhow in kenya context every time government has tried to do more than it should we always end up with either ineptness or corruption.

Instead of importing such containers, why not let them be refurbished and fitted with the equipment locally? This way we can create jobs for the youths. Now we go to China, buy containers and everything (substandard most likely) is already inside. Why do we not think of creating jobs for the youth in Kenya and not for the Chinese? The govt should make it a mandate for such projects to have a local content.
I assure you most Asian countries would never do it our way. Most projects in kenya like SGR are only done with the elite having their eyes on their cut in the whole project.

Why would a legit company doing legit business incorporate in panama? To avoid paying corporate taxes or what? It reminds me of the shadowy companies that were involved in anglo leasing. Macharia must have been a thief even in NIC with his cousin or brother macharia of seven seas technologies. Any company that sole purpose is to work either government or parastals its not a legit business.
