Not really.  It's amazing that these guys have been together going on 5 years and they still haven't figured a formula of how they are going to run.

I get the impression the CORD 'disarray' is designed to keep Jubilee guessing on their game. The trio are not delusional enough to run independently after all the KANU era lessons. For example Joho rooting to be ODM running mate is just to up his numbers in Mombasa as he faces off with [Senator] Omar Hassan. Same for Kalonzo and Weta -- everyone's exciting their base which is a very good thing. Expect the same line-up as in 2013 seeing nothing of significance has changed.

And how will the same line help cord. Madvd get his 4%; CORD get their 40%; and Jubilee get 55%; worse case scenario.

The least they can do is to excite the base and form CORD party (in Jubilee mold) to wrestle/retain more counties/MPs from Jubilee. It remains possible to upstage Jubilee with GRAND VISION while in opposition which is Raila's element. Otherwise their goose is cooked.

Cord doesn't have to do anything but perhaps confuse the status quo so those assholes stop upstaging CORD rallies and CORD get togethers. Like Robina said. Jubilee's campaign strategy and existence is to plagiarize CORD ideas and move politics in accordance with CORD's next move.

The fact CORD doesn't have to care about Jubilee is because there's already a fallout within Jubilee between the two main luminaries. Uhuru is supposed to support Ruto this time round, but at present Ruto is as populous as Kalonzo and doesn't have RV support base. He's been running around like a headless chicken over thinking political strategies and making dastard moves behind Uhuru's back.

Actually, I highly suspect it has to do more with Joho and how he's squeezing himself in to the flag bearer in 2022.

What are we supposed to do with this information Mr. Pundit-skip the 2017 presidential elections?  Si you just now go about your business and watch the stupid opposition waste their time.

Your numbers are based on the past and while you have a very inflated view of your personal intelligence, you have no special powers to predict the future.  A lot can happen between now and August 2017.  Also, democracy is about the process.  Each time we have a competitive free and fair elections, the country improves despite the end result.  We are definitely a better Kenya than we were during the Nyayo era where the winner of the elections was predictable. For now spare us the insults until after the elections and then you can continue to brag about your political acumen for the next five years if Ouruto wins.  The opposition is not going anywhere.

Pundit has a zerosum view of things, what is this new "process" concept? It's a contest; it is extremely amusing that some should inadequately prep to win. The paradox is, UhuRuto may well win while our democracy improves. Win-win.

Winners can win, winners can loose, losers can win and losers can actually loose. I think it's kind of primitive to reduce politics into a soccer match. If it was true that losers always loose then Raila would not be commanding the kind of political attention he is commanding today.

Kenya tribal or ethnic based politics is easy to predict. If Raila has not amassed a winning tribal coalition now; he need to do so quickly.

In the 90's the elections were easy to predict, Moi won all of them but then there was a paradigm shift platform that was being laid down all that time and it paid off in 2002.  There is a paradigm shift being laid out right now to end the so called "tyranny of numbers" that you think is the gold standard of Kenyan politics.  The shift may occur sooner than you think.

In 2002, it was a tribal coalition which won the election.

RAO must garner a bigger tribal coalition than Jubilee to win.

That's like saying that "you have to score more goals to win a soccer game" Dah!  You can also win by building a coalition of "wameza mate" instead of tribes. We have bought into this idea that only tribaly defined coalitions can win elections that it's become the only acceptable conventional wisdom. Leadership is about changing for the better and those who do not want to divide the country politically along tribal lines should not give up.

As always theoritically sound; but practically naive and stupid. cord and co have to be honest to themselves...realize the size of the hole they're in..and hopefully they can start crawling out of it. Blaming IEBC and sijui who..won't help.

Anyway I consider 2017 to be non-event. Uhuru wins. 2022 is interesting. My man WSR will finally get a chance to show just how politically talented the son of the gun is. I can't wait. This is very booooooooooooring. I wish we could skip 2017 and get to 2022.

The reality that you brag to know so much was once just an idea or a theories in some one or some peoples minds. Politics was not always tribal in Kenya and neither was multi-party democracy. The tyranny of "wameza mate" is an Idea now but you never know, it  may one day replace tribal politics-in our life time or even in 2017.
