Runs Interior, entrusted with preventing the next terror attack.  It is the most corrupt ministry in Kenya.  That means Kenya's security is really in God's hands.  Yet all he wants is to lock up a governor for not showing him the appropriate fear.  Between Joho's pistol and the looters at interior, who poses the most serious threat to Kenya's security?

Another relic from the serikali-ni-baba-na-mama era.   Even his old comrades have moved on: as they see it, government these days is about eating, not about power and definitely not (as it has always been) about service for the people.

You miss the point. Both Interior and Defence have ring-fenced corruption. Ole Sahani lacked sufficient "absorption capacity" for it so he was shoved aside and a proper Vacuum Cleaner or should I say "Sponge" employed in his place. Look at the Sponge/ Vacuum Cleaner's first act as CS: He paid out the entire ministry budget in one day. This included paying entities that had not as much as sent an invoice!

He is also a magician: Some noise emerged from Parliament about the hefty payments to people who didn't even know they were owed. Mr. Sponge / Vacuum Cleaner then visited parliament to inform loud mouthed MPs that the political slush fund window for MPs (which Monica Juma had closed) had re-opened for business. No queues and drivers could be sent to pick the famous brown envelops. No Party affiliation necessary, he clarified. The little noise from those quarters vanished faster than you can pronounce "Abra Cadabra!

... [the ICC case] will be tried in Europe, where due procedure and expertise prevail.; ... Second-guessing Ocampo and fantasizing ..has obviously become a national pastime.- NattyDread
