How Alfie's hospital looks when cameras are not hidden.

This is how it looks when they are hidden.

Those who support mutua will tell you that's not a governors job. Mutua has to focus on bringing sustainable development to his people based on long term planning.  Maendeleo chap chap is not based on strong foundation and it will be very costly in the long run.

Must say the hospital looks very clean and folks are on duty at night.  They seem to lack enough porters  and nursing staff to help wheel patients from vehicle to casualty dept.

Doctors rarely get involved in wheeling patients , unless escorting the very ill ones form one hospital to another.

The guy recording this clip , who also identifies himself as medic does not help the situation with his attitude. He should have helped wheel the patient, let the Dr do their job and record his complaint with the hospital admin.

Several medics at the Machakos level 5 hospital face the sack after a video emerged of them reluctant to assist a road crash victim.

Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua posted on his Twitter account Saturday morning that he had instructed his health minister to probe the incident.

"I have directed my Minister for Health to take appropriate action concerning treatment of patients at Machakos Hospital's casualty," Mutua said.

"I have directed my Minister for Health to take appropriate action concerning treatment of patients at Machakos Hospital's casualty," the governor added.

The two minute-long video posted on Facebook by Jacob (Jobby) Ouma who had unsuccessfully vied for the Lang'ata parliamentary seat in 2013, details an exchange between himself and several medics at the facility.

Ouma is heard asking a group of medics to help him move the victim from his vehicle to the emergency ward for treatment.

The medics however told him they were all busy and asked Ouma to wheel in the patient.

Ouma who in the video said he has some training in healthcare told the medics moving the patient by himself could endanger his life.

"I am bringing him here, and the medics are telling I pull him in and he has broken limbs. How to you expect us to work?" Ouma poses at one point in the video.

Three medics eventually proceed to Ouma's car parked outside the hospital to transfer the patient to the emergency room.

Following the incident governor Mutua, said the behaviour of the medics is inexcusable and will be dealt with accordingly.

"Disrespect and shoddy treatment of Wananchi common in other regions will not be tolerated in Machakos. Wananchi deserve respect," Mutua said.

The incident and Mutua's response come barely two months after a patient died after spending 18 hours in an ambulance.

Alex Magada was taken to hospital after he was knocked down by a speeding car at Kangemi on Waiyaki way but waited for 18 hours in the ambulance before he was admitted at Kenyatta.

An inquiry into the incident by the medical board determined that Kenyatta National Hospital and Coptic Hospital were culpable in the death of Madaga.

This latest incident is likely to bring to the fore a debate on the state of healthcare in the country after it was divolved to counties.

C'mon Termie, you know how the official procedure in United States or system of hospital works. You don't have to storm to a hospital with a patient without the front folks checking one identity and insurance.

He would be arrested if he was in United States.

In developed countries this incident would be used in ethics classes and hospital training manuals. There are a lot of reason for leaders and those entrusted to run health facilities to learn.  The governor has a role too since health care is under county government.
