The US Supreme Court decision locks into place what will be recorded as one of his major achievements.
And while controversy rages over a white woman, in some minor role, pretending to be black, Clarence Thomas performed as usual.
As it should be. The other side had numerous opportunities to come up with an alternative for eons but didn't. Once ACA was passed in Congress and signed by Obama in 2010, the Republicans still tried derailing it. The GOP at State level had the option of setting up their health exchanges or resorting to the feds Healthcare.gov but opted out, thereby depriving up to eight million folks access to
insured healthcare. Yeah, it would be subsidised -- but so are many other services in this country! For those many uninsured low income folks this SCOTUS ruling is definitely a big deal.
Yet on Clarence Thomas, there is that shameful incident that came to the fore in 1991 during his confirmation hearings to the SCOTUS. Anita Hill recounted an instance when Clarence Thomas, then her boss at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, uttered the obnoxious and sexually harassing phrase to her: "Who has put pubic hair on my coke?"
Probably the worst pick-up line ever devised by man.
