Seem like a man of impeachable integrity, hard-work and professionalism. Something CBK have not had bar Micah Cheserem. He beat Cheserem a CPA given he has very solid academic credential and truly world class experience.

An inspired choice by Uhuru if it wasn't for the tribe..which in this case should  be overlooked.

As an Opus dei Dr Njoroge gives up all his money to the church..

I am so far impressed. As you rightly say past behavior by Uhuru has smeared the appointment. I am willing to give him a chance especially given his remarks about interest rates.

The question is will he last? Ethnic Kikuyus who go against the unwritten creed end up badly.

The biggest curse is having an incompetent fool beholden to powers that be. At least with him, it appears we are halfway there. Over to Ouruto.

But....but....do independent brains deliver always?

Don't go far. Micah Cheserem rescued the banking industry in kenya. It had gone literally to the dogs..from CBK to small banks. All you need is someone who has integrity, is independent and has real cojones. Does Dr Njoroge have real cojones...that remain to be seen..but he definitely has rock solid integrity, brilliance and a commitment to serve.

Prof Ndungu was pro-reforms but he was emboldened to banking industry. You need someone who will step in as a real regulator.

It nothing about being kikuyu or not. Few Luos dare challenge Raila and those that do end up ostracized. The same with Kalenjin. But they are people who cannot compromise there ideals. One of them is Iron lady Justice Mumbi. And Githongo of course.

And they asked him stupid questions.  Not every man likes women.
Quote
Numeraries, the second largest type of members of Opus Dei, comprise about 20% of total membership.[1] Numeraries are celibate members who usually live in special centers run by Opus Dei. "Numerary" is a general term for persons who form part of the permanent staff of an organization.

Both men and women may become numeraries in the Opus Dei prelature, although the centers are gender-segregated, with only minimal contact between male and female numeraries.[2] Numeraries are required to be celibate. Numeraries generally have normal careers and devote the bulk of their income to the organization.[3] According to Opus Dei's 1982 statutes, potential numeraries ordinarily "ought to have a civil academic degree or professional equivalent, or be able, at least, to obtain one after the admission"[4]

How can they ask about marriage while there is so much to ask?
Policy should be the main focus, others are irrelevant.
Also, coverage of this important even is minimal. The media focuses more on political issues and we end up getting the shortest end of the stick. This is the money person, and all we get is four paragraphs of very little.

I have told you about Mumbi Ngugi. That lady is mine! I saw her first.

I fear they will deny her the CJ job and give Lenaola if not some GEMA like Consigliere Githu Muigai. I simply don't understand why anybody who is already AG would covet the job of CJ.

Incase you forgot, most of the MNAs (Members of the National Assembly) are former councillors. You would risk bringing on a stroke caused by a burst vein in the brains if you start talking to them about "complex" matters.

Is this dude a current or a former member of Opus Dei?

If this source is believable, then I think Opus Dei is not exactly a merit

vooke,

By that standard, most Christians will fail.  Dont you always seek the Lord's input before making important decisions?

And seeking the Lord is equivalent to confessing EVERYTHING to another dude?

I have yet to run into Opus Dei in conspiracy circles. This means they are either highly successful at styling under or they are simply up to nothing worth theorizing.

I found the extreme control environment curious and worrisome.

vooke,

Why don't you talk to real Opus Dei folks?  There are plenty of them in Nairobi.  And yes, they will have time for you.  To suggest there is anything so extreme as to cripple them in their work is laughable.

I I simply don't understand why anybody who is already AG would covet the job of CJ.

Anyone who dreams of being remembered will choose CJ over AG.   An AG is just another prosecutor, after all.   A very fancy one, to be sure, given that he/she also "advises" the government---but, still, just another one.    On the other hand, a CJ with sufficiently strong will and skills can make history in both the creation and enforcement of the law.

In a country with a reasonably-functioning judicial system, the average citizen is unlikely to remember any past AG and will have only a foggy idea of the present one; that would be very different when it comes to the CJ.   On the other hand, in backward places, the AG tends to be better known or remembered because he/she tends to be the sharp end of the anti-law, oppressive stick.

So, here we are in Kenya.    Amicus Kassin Consigliere could go for CJ for any number of reasons.   For example:

(a) He has genuinely repented and wishes to leave behind a legal legacy that his children (illegitimate & otherwise), friends, and compatriots will admire; or

(b) his masters, be they cousins or friends, consider that he would be of better service in that position, much as in the world of spooks "sleepers" should always be upgraded until they reach the "peak"; or

(c) having noted that today's CJ in Kenya is better protected from the whims of politicians and also having noted Henry Kissinger's remark that raw power does amazing things for the libido, he simply is mindful of Mrs AG.

AG not advises but he sits in nearly every meeting in parliament, cabinet and of course public owned companies and institutions. He okays every deal in gov. Both local and International. So in terms of opportunities to make decision or money he is up there..AG is the Gov Lawyer...Gov is huge conglomerate

What does the CJ do....ran the judiciary and occasional sit in supreme court. I doubt current AG is interested in any of that boorish stuff.
