All Mutua critics can accuse him of is his suave PR like its a crime to be suave. Negro is delivering and has exceeded EVERYBODY'S expectation especially his constituents. You really have to have  delivered when State House and Opposition are heads over heels in love with you and dying to identify with your work.

Whether he can make a decent shot for SH or not, he certainly deserves it

It goes to shows most of our problem don't require a lot of thinking; just plain common sense.  Of course if your main agenda is to find means and ways to steal rather than serve like most governors are pre-occupied with; this seems like magic.

I will happy with the hospital the minute Mutua gets sick he is not rushed to Nairobi Hospital or Aga Khan but lands at Machakos Level 5 (what ever that means) Hospital.

Interesting. In Kenya even the primary school teacher doesn't take his or her kids to schools he teaches, so does the doctor. Maybe this is what is needed to spur some seriousness into public sector. It only high schools and universities where folks still fight to get into public.

I saw that and thought it looked impressive.  Some fancy machines.  Colorful.  Brand new.  Propped up for the camera.

I agree the true measure will be what kind of services it offers a few months and miles away from this event and cameras.  Remember, even Moi never saw a pothole or a flower out of place back in the day.

I am sure Alfie would not hesitate to arrange a visit with full PR team in tow if he were to require services from there.

A good first impression nevertheless.  There are governors whose only achievement is attending local beauty contests.  An MCA has to steal money to put up such in other counties.

.... and in the meantime malaria killing children in Kakamega hospital as the Kakamega governor Oparanya involves himself in useless time wasting political tug of wars in Malava.

Quote
Five more children died at the Kakamega County Referral Hospital on Thursday night following a malaria outbreak in the region.

This brings to a total of 12, the number of children who have died at the hospital in the past week since the outbreak.

See a children's ward in Kakamega Hospital. Now wonder children are dying there.

Level 5 means it is able to accommodate some trauma patients
Mutual is starting somewhere unlike many who have nothing to show

I might be for  pr purposes but at least he is doing something unlike many that are preoccupied with mansions and the next biggest car out there. Attracting very good doctors and nurses will depend on the budget he is working on. So fat mutua seems to use less money to achieve more.

Precisely. Mutua has managed to achieve alot working with very little. There is no PR when you have real life pictures of what he has done.

Why can't the naysayers poke through his PR? Should be quite easy. All we have is 'I doubt','I don't believe', 'I don't think'....why assume what you can verify?

The institution, recently refurbished, looks great.  It is premature though, to give it an A.  It is a hospital after all.

The beautiful sign saying "Machakos hospital" in flowers is probably a global first.  But it must still be evaluated in terms of service delivery.  Months if not years from last week.

Repeat. It is so easy to disprove Mutua. What are you waiting for, be a hero, go and do it. Start by denying his road, and of that is too visible, whine about its 'quality'.

If the institution remains neat, clean and colorful, I believe that should reflect well on Alfie.

Yet, his performance on this particular institution in question lives and dies with sustainable service delivery.

It's your call; go to bed and wait for whatever 'time' you fancy and then measure delivery over that or applaud the very attempt at delivery by the name of face lift and modest upgrading as only a county government can afford.

Here is Nyeri Referral hospital.  Patients are sharing beds.  I go there with Malaria and I am put in a bed with a scabies patient.  I go in with cholera and come out with TB.

Would it make me feel better that this institution was in all likelihood looking nice and clean when it was officially opened?  Should that matter at all?  Or should I just care about the fancy metric of service delivery?

Should a Negro have high expectations of his leaders?

Who is stopping you from demanding John Hopkins standards?
It starts somewhere. Mutua is right there, and I can't understand why you are mean with compliments. Is it because he is not exactly a CORD yes-man?
