Anti-China President Lai Ching-te accused the opposition MPs of stalling his nationalist agenda, especially heavy spending on US weapons. Seems he is stuck with the pro-China majority opposition after the dramatic failure of the recalls.

Taiwanese voters again reject attempts to recall pro-China MPs... a gut punch for anti-China president.

Reading online it seems people saw recall as US vs China. Most dislike US for Trump steep tariffs despite Taiwan licking his boots.
