This comes hours after she raised alarm over withdrawal of her personal security and officers from the judicial policing unit.
Speaking in Diani Friday during the launch of the National Government Administration Police Unit (NGAP), CS Murkomen said it was unfortunate that the CJ had gone "too public" with the matter.
He also clarified that the security officers were promoted and had left for training, while dismissing claims of a scheme against CJ Koome.
“When officers are promoted, they need to undergo training. Unfortunately, the Chief Justice went too public about this issue. However, I assured her that the matter would be resolved,” he stated.
Mr Murkomen revealed that he had spoken with the Chief Justice and Inspector-General of Police Douglas Kanja to clarify the situation, urging cooperation among public offices.
“This was a minor issue that should not have been escalated. The CJ remains adequately protected with about 29 officers, and her safety, as well as that of other judges, is guaranteed,” he said.
The CS emphasised the need for teamwork between the judiciary and other arms of government.
“I call upon the CJ to allow us to work together as a team. Promoting junior officers is beneficial for the country and ensures their morale remains high. This decision was made purely based on officer promotions and not with any ill motive,” Mr Murkomen stated.
CJ Koome had, in a protest letter addressed to Mr Murkomen and Mr Kanja, claimed that the Executive had recalled her bodyguards and reduced the number of officers seconded to the courts under the Judiciary Police Unit.
While CJ Koome did not specify the exact number of officers withdrawn, the Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association claimed that 23 officers under the Judiciary Police Unit had been affected.
