He should resign on the eve of the Senate vote if he must. 2 weeks from now or so.

Gachagua is a fool who tasted power and cannot believe that he will never taste it again.   

It was obvious, even from this thread, that he should have resigned but what is the cure for ujinga?   

Now after broadcasting to everyone that he cut short his US trip to come lead the by-elections, how does he face the same people and tell them that he failed?

After telling us that he has made two presidents, including rescuing one from the bar, how can he explain how he could not make even one MP in the by-elections?

As for being DCP leader, YES  the katiba expressly bars anyone who has been impeached from being a party leader. 

Finally, I am glad that Mt Kenya is realising where it is - led by an impotent - and is grasping around for answers 15 months before nominations.  Small time window but enough time to do some self assessment on the way forward
