Unlike many in government, the president is pursuing a national agenda of building the economy, promoting debt transparency, fighting corruption, etc. Most Kalenjins opposed Finance Bill just like the rest of Kenyans, but once 'Ruto must go' chants started, folks realized Finance Bill's demo agenda was meant to take him down; everything changed. Ruto is not Uhuru, who gets scared easily. Uhuru wanted to resign when things got thick, but it took Ruto to calm and assure him. Ruto will do five and seek reelection if defeated; unlike Raila, he will hand over power peacefully. You can't take him out any other way. It will be a pain for Kenya for decades!
