Sakaja is going to turn Nairobi into a slum
« on: May 31, 2024, 05:21:22 AM »
I’ve been following jerotich seii who is trying to fight a single handed battle to save Nairobi from turning into the next Lagos, but unfortunately she is losing the fight because she doesn’t have the money to bribe like the Chinese.

I feel bad for anyone stuck in Nairobi. It’s become a horrible place to live with the pollution, dust, traffic, 3rd world apartment buildings, etc

You can no longer live in Nairobi and remain sane.

Nairobi is growing - and that is understatement of the year.
It rapidly growing like Dubai of 90s or 2000s
Or Chinese cities.

I was shocked by Eastleigh recently when I drove around there.

The entire Nairobi bar maybe Karen will eventually turn into high rises.

The Seeis need to head to Nairobi Metro - Kiambu Tigoni - is new Runda - or Kajiado

Why don't you see this as a problem? I find Nairobi to be a very stressful place to be.  Growth is fine, but if it is unplanned, then it's not fine. We saw the disaster with the recent floods (there's no infrasctructure especially sewage to support this growth) and these high rises...what if there is a big fire one day? Is they enough water or fire hydrants? It's a total mess.

I think the place to live in kenya now is Nanyuki or even Laikipia if you have the money. I pity all those people that bought houses in kilimani, kileleshwa or lavington 30 years ago.

Affordable housing is the answer - esp to where majority of kenyans live - eastland - and slums.
