Let's Pray
« on: December 28, 2014, 09:11:45 AM »
Good morning church,
This should be the last sermon of the year.

Genesis 1:14-15 (KJV)
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so

Exodus 12:1-2 (KJV)
?1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

Genesis tells us that the sun is our BASIS for reckoning time, days and years. It has been so ever since. In Exodus when Israel was leaving Egypt,God specifically set the first month of the year.

Presently, we follow Roman not Jewish calendar but it is more or less the same thing. And so, we are a few hours away from a new year and somewhat, this is exciting. It is more psychological because the first day of 2015 will be no different from the last day of 2014.

One thing is undeniable, end of year really excites our consciousness of time; we are getting older,we have missed some set goals, and so forth. I hope and pray that as you celebrate, these two portions of Psalms will be in your heart. That you will reflect on the frailty of life and walk accordingly.

Let year 2015 be a year of submission where in all your plans, you will say 'God willing'
James 4:15 (KJV)
For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that

But BEFORE you pray for nothing, please thank God for what He has done and where he has brought you from. You could have graced the obituaries like Imanit
Philippians 4:6 (ESV)
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God

Have a blessed Lord's Day

And now, let us worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness
Psalms 29:2 (KJV) 2 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name;
worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

2 Timothy 2:4  No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
