This us where you go wrong . Putins objective was to stop Russia dissolution and to stop Natos expansion and destroying the current world order of Uniletralism. 
You might want to argue if he has achieved the second one but the first and third one he has achieved. As for NATO expansion its very evident that Ukraine and any former soviet country will never join NATO .

I agree with njuri.Russia have lost.Western leaders can change but their military objective remain anti Russian.So it not gonna help much...foreign policies won't change much....as these local domestic economic issues.Russia has exposed it's underbelly by failing to defeat Ukraine.They are now fighting almost as equals... Putin has been very gentle with Ukrainian because these are very same people. He has avoided mass collateral damages and flattening Ukraine. Stated objectives Denazification and demilitarisation of ukraine has been achieved.
Everyone and their grandmother's know Russia is not fighting Ukraine but Nato. The only constant is that the war is in Ukraine. Shock and awe, air power bombing indiscriminately to submission is a western concept...thats what everyone expected and that's how nato defense system in Ukraine had been built. Putin the master strategist decided to go back to ground game, roll out tanks and pound poor Ukrainian positions.

2 month submission of Ukraine would have been disastrous for Russia because now they would be bog down in Gurriella warfare in Ukraine. Long protracted war is better for Russia to bleed out poor Europeans. They are spending so much money and sending lots of weapons to Ukraine. Weapons they have to replenish to remain compliant to Nato war readiness status.
Unlike most European countries Russia is food secure. Top exporters of wheat, corn and sunflower oil. Economically they are doing better selling less oil and gas and making 2x what they used to make before war...
