From my analysis these are retreating Russian forces that have been encircled,I told noway most of Russia forces in the east are encircled and are just sitting ducks to be ambushed very scaring,they are just sitting ducks.

Second biggest mistake was when Yankuvich then President of Ukraine in 2013 asked for Military help as per international law to quell Maidan revolution he never obliged. Third was after Crimea joined Russia and all Russian speaking regions all the way to Odessa wanted to join Russia he never supported it.
He is trying to rectify all that  . He will succeed but a big cost.
