The Society always performs the role of Amicus in these petitions. It'd be highly inappropriate if the sitting president served as Counsel, IMO.

He is former - long time ago - you should keep tabs of these things. Now it's Eric Theuri. Eric Mutua served in 2012-2016

So why did he decline such a lucrative case? Interesting.
